Magazine subscription suggestions

Hi. I'm looking to change my magazine subscription as it is up for renewal . I've had Good Food for 3 years but it seemed to get a bit all the same so I switched to Delicious for the past 2 years. I'm getting bored with that one now.

Can any of you pass on some suggestions for a foodie mag subscription?

I've been getting very interested in baking and decoration and noticed Cake Craft and Decoration, however it didn't seem to get very good reviews. Have any of you read it?

Thanks

I like Olive.

I used to be able to download them as PDFs, but resources seem to have dried up.

Thank you! Could you let me know what you like about it or how it is different from Good Food or Delicious? What did you find about it that you liked?

It's weird because both Olive and Good Food are BBC productions - I don't really know why they need two of them.

I haven't read Good Food, but I would say that seems like it's more of a traditional magazine aimed more towards older people. Olive is maybe marketed towards younger people with a bit more high end content.

Who needs food magazines when you can find all of the recipes you could ever want online for free?

Sometimes it's nice to get away from the screen and relax with a magazine. It's also nice to read on the bus, train, etc.

Of the three years supply of "Good Food" magazines you have how many recipes have you read amongst the few thousand they contain that have really inspired you to cook them?
I have a huge stack of all the magazines mentioned.
I need to dump them.
Whilst I have enjoyed browsing them the % of recipes I've cooked that are actually sourced from the magazine is negligible.
With the number of cookery books I have and the internet resources available I agree with Thrasymachus (!!!).
Just google the words "good food" and see how much is available.
Yes, magazines are "nice to browse" but they are simply an ineffective expense - or, to use another word, a luxury.
Are all three magazines each providing original recipes month after month, year after year or just recycling modified versions from a recipe database?

Thanks Toby. The subscription is a yearly Christmas gift that started with my Grandmother-in-law and since she passed my mother-in-law has been keeping the tradition by renewing or getting a different mag for me each year. I think of both of them when it is delivered though my post box.
