It's totally dependent on your needs, budget and preferences.
Have you read/watched in-depth reviews of both online? Have you been to a phone shop and had a play? I'd advise doing both to form a personal opinion before totaling relying on others opinions - that comes later. |

Apart from both being able to make calls they are nothing like each other to use. You really need to try both.
But what swayed me to the HTC (having never owned any smart phone before) was the screen resolution. As someone who uses maps it is just like looking at fine detailed paper and there is no fuzziness at all. The IPhone 5 (no 5S then) had a less detailed screen. Your needs will be different to mine though so try both. |

the htc one is cheaper but most of music collection over 1k songs are purchased music from iTunes.....
Personally if your going Android I would wait for the Nexus 5. The sound chip on the Nexus 4 is excellent and I also have an iPhone 5s. The 5s perhaps just shades the Nexus on sound quality but it's very very close. It's likely that the 5s will have the better resale value so something to consider when looking at total cost of ownership |

HTC One is the best phone on the market. I would buy it even if it were more expensive than the 5s. But as it`s cheaper.... it really is a no brainer.

Go to a phone shop and try both handsets. The screen is much bigger on the HTC, but perhaps you might find the iPhone more pocket-able and it will seamlessly integrate with your iTunes.

I just have an app called iSyncr and it will even sync over the wireless. Here it is: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...Syncr&hl=en_GB There is no excuse to have an iPhone. ![]() Honestly I would try both and see which you are more comfortable with although you can customize Android more than the iPhone (can customize absolutely anything). |

the thing is i will be getting it on contract....people have told me not to get the nexus 5 on a contract....and i can't really afford as a student to spend 300+ on a phone in one go....
Also there is the issue of my music collection.....all my songs are iTunes purchases Combine that with something like the ovivo freedom sim, which runs of the vodafone network and you are going to save one heck of a lot of money. I have no problem just copying my itunes music ( as long as you got it after 2009 I think ) out of the itunes music folder on to the nexus 4 drive and using google play. |

And if you've got a Macbook you'll need this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...r4Mac&hl=en_GB You go to the Google Play store from the icon on the phone and find the app, download and install it. Not unlike you would do with an iPhone except for where you get the apps from of course .

Very impressed with the 5s. The battery is lasting much longer than the 5. And since the new iOS 7.0.3 update on Wednesday, reading comments on that thread, others have posted how much longer their battery life is lasting also. Also, from seeing 5s vs HTC One videos on YT, the 5s is quicker accessing online content and Apps and is more responsive. The camera on the 5s is a lot better also and has a lot more options.
The fingerprint ID is also very handy as it saves you from having to type in a pass code everytime you want to access your phone which can be very annoying. |
