Yes it does do the same thing, but I am talking about something else. Even with its smaller screen IOS seems to have the knack of presenting information more clearly, typically by wrapping better. I find with Android I am either zooming the whole screen and then having to pan around, or I am looking at impossibly small text and having to don my reading glasses.

Think I can put my finger on one of the main issues regarding legibility. When reading text on a website (such as this one) and you rotate the phone to landscape, IOS expands the size of the text to fit the bigger width, whereas Android just gives you longer lines with the text no more legible. Given that the width of an iPhone 5 in landscape is pretty much the same as the HTC One this is a big advantage for me. I appreciate that I'm getting less overall on the screen but that isn't a big issue as I only read one line at a time, just have to scroll more frequently.
given android's infinite customisability, is there a setting to modify this behaviour ?

Thanks for the clarification about 333

, I didnt think you could enable magnify with the keyboard present. An alternative might be to use contacts instead if this is an issue.

Just tried it now (just to make sure I wasn't talking out of my backside) and yes, 333 on the phone keypad zooms the display. But it is also surprising how often I find myself typing the same key three times in a row - perhaps it's my insecure passwords

It's quite hard to accidentally double tap with three fingers on IOS - although I have seen people get into a zoomed state and think the phone is faulty, just because it is uncommon to do by accident.

switch to a cheap sim only deal and keep it. The 5s/HTC one is only going to be an incremental upgrade.

My 4s is on its last legs. Screen is kinda cracked as well. I need a new phone full stop

I am thinking maybe to get the LG G2, £29 a month on three.

Nice phone, I would go and have a look at one as the on/off switch is on the back which some people find a bit weird.

Looks a good deal, if you sell the 4s on ebay you'll easily get enough to pay the upfront cost.

I'm confused. You opened a thread asking about two particular phones then ask about another phone which has completely different specs and price to these phones. Did you intend considering buying one these phones in your OP at all?

I have kinda changed my mind. The HTC One is only £3 more a month than the G2, but the G2 is getting good reviews

The sad thing though that's its only 16gb

Ah. Thats the chinese version. LOads of phones have that there! Think the S3 and S4 have it as well. Thankfully we don't have that here.

The YT review I posted above says the G2 sound is very tinny (if music is a major selling point to you)

Hmm when i tried it the speakers on the phone were pretty damn good to be honest. A colleague at work has one and says it sounds great through cans as well. The volume is reported to be low. However, being an Android phone, you can get round this limitation.

I don't. But that guy is usually pretty good and tells it like it is with his reviews. It's no odds to me as I'm more than happy with my 5s.

Nah im gonna buy a seperate iPod.
Coming to think about it I think its better to have a separate phone and iPod because of battery issues etc....
