Sorry if there is an existing thread, but I didn't spot one in the search.

According to a report a few weeks ago on Uswitch, Sky Go will finally be compatible with a range of 10" tablets, with an expected release in November. With me being a Tab 2 10.1 owner, I welcome this news as when away from home, I resort to using illegal streaming sites to watch the football matches & other sports events that Sky show.

Sky Go has been long overdue for users of the larger screen range of Android tablet, no doubt there will be many people who will be pleased that it is finally look likely to happen.

Yep, I've been trialling the tablet beta. A few niggles but otherwise works very well. Also, tentatively, appears to have no restrictions on which tablet it runs on. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

I hope so too, but knowing Sky it will be locked to a few select tablets.

I don't know what it is with Sky. Netflix, YouTube, BT, iPlayer, ITV Player, 4od and probably loads more besides manage to get their apps on all devices.

When BT Sport launched it was available from day one on my tablet (Asus TF300). Sky haven't managed it after years.

It if does stay that way & is compatible with the tab 2 10.1. I was wondering if you knew if it were possible to view the output of Sky Go, on my bedroom Samsung TV via the allshare module ?.

sky have said today that the tablet version will run on ALL tablets (except the Transformer 101 apparently). So no whitelist, but a (short) blacklist.

Very much doubt it will work with allshare, most options for outputting the content have been blocked.

This is good to hear.
If Sky Go works I will look at upgrading to a decent 9" tablet.

Apparently there are some bugs during the beta testing & now the release has been put back until December 3rd.

Be nice if it finally worked on my 7" Acer. Will never happen though.

They haven't half approached Android arse over tit.

Granted each device has it's technical limitations, but far less than Sky make out.

Excellent news. This should have happened years ago, but Sky seem to have been in bed with Apple as far as Sky Go is concerned. A while back the Sky Go ads were basically ipad ads.
