Sorry, but I saw the other thread () and one I've always wanted to say, but never got round to it sprung to mind:

PENNY LANCASTER STEWART. I thought her Latin was horrible - 25 was generous for her Jive, and her getting 8s for that gangly Samba was terrible - I am probably in a minority here.

RUSSELL GRANT: He was terrible, if entertaining. Enough said.

LISA RILEY: Just to name the obvious. So awful. The judges were so shocked in week 1 that she got 8s. And its obvious they knew they'd made a mistake giving her such marks, because she was on such a high, and the judges didn't want to break her heart, so she got to week 11 thinking she could dance! Rather unfair on her, if anything, and very irritating.

SUSANNA REID: Her week 1-3 dances were all overmarked IMO. It's a shame, I wish they were more honest with her, now it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

What are your thoughts?

Lisa Snowdon - her marks were unfathomable to me. Never have I been so infuriated by Strictly overmarking and I actually think it went against her with the public. The perception was the judges were being strategic rather than marking what they were seeing.

Agree. She did some lovely ballroom and her VW was wonderful, but the Latin, ropey, and her AT was awful, but the judges lapped it all up. Very confusing and annoying.

Just came to write the same thing.

But there have been far more overmarked than undermarked over the years.

Pamela Stephenson
Jason Donovan
Lisa Riley
Tom Chambers
Emma Bunton

And those are just the ones I can think of off the top of my head.

Lisa Riley...every time she 'danced.' Perhaps everytime I should say that she flapped her 'big, happy hands' and squealed continuously. This was an example of someone who should have been voted off well before week six. Getting to week 11 was a travesty.

This year, although I will admit to rather 'fancying' her, SR is over-rated...far too much of the "Don't you realise who I am!"

Probably the usual suspects

Lisa snowdon
Lisa Riley
Emma bunton (still can't believe she got a 10 for her paso)

I never watched series 4, so I never knew that Emma Bunton was overmarked.

Agree with everyone mentioned in the posts already, but also think Kimberley was last year, especially in her fusion, charleston and show dance

Pretty much everything by Kara Tointon. The fauxmance rumours never helped me warm to her.

Controversial! I thought she was often undermarked but there you go...

Kimberley's charleston was overmarked yet no mention of Louis Smith's? Wow.

Can't agree with you more. I still can't believe they marked her Cha Cha higher than Rachel's Rumba!

Agree. I think Louis over-did the acting there, it looked contrived

Agreed many of her dances over marked and that turned many of the voting public against her but she performed a brilliant waltz that was up there with the very best

I thought she was undermarked too, especially when you see how many 10s Pamela got.

Kara's overmarked dances (in order of appearance)
Cha Cha Cha
Foxtrot (definately not worth a 9, but it was from Alesha so understandable)
Charleston
Salsa
American Smooth (Len's 6 was about right)
Jive
Rumba (Definately worth a 9, but not perfect)
Showdance (Contrived and boring)
Waltz

Austin Healeys' week 1 waltz wasn't bad, either.

Ben Cohen has been far more overmarked than Susannah in the current series. (Although the scores for her jive were a bit generous, i think the rest have been ok tbh)

I think Alesha is one of the most overrated dancers ever. The judges seemed to ignore her technique because she sold the dances quite well. Her Latin technique was usually pretty poor - jive, Cha Cha, Paso etc.

I thought she looked a bit gangly in general when she danced.

Zoe Ball

Ali Bastian

Emma Bunton

Think it cost all of them, particularly Zoe as she was genuinely good and was the best in her year.

Sometimes I think the judges are just annoyed that the public just 'don't get it' and spell out who the better dancers are by inflating their marks even further.

I remember Zoe getting a ten for a very good dancer where there was a clear error. This was remarked on by Erin and I think put the favouritism thing in the minds of the public.

Also Ali got a ten for a group dance where she and Brian barged their way through the other dancers. Other pro's picked up on this as well.

Just my thoughts.

He didn't have any choice! The judges had been slating him the previous weeks for not performing the dances in the way they expected......so he got the old acting coach storyline and pulled out all the stops to give them the type of performance they wanted! If there's one dance you can over act and get away with it's the Charleston. I can't believe people are bringing in last years fan wars into this thread....well I can, obviously people still haven't got over Louis winning

Lisa Snowdon. I felt like I was watching a different program when the judges kept giving her fantastic scores, and yet most of the time she was just a gangly mess.
