Abbey Clancey is the Penny Lancaster/Lisa Snowden of this year IMO.

Think it cost all of them, particularly Zoe as she was genuinely good and was the best in her year.

Sometimes I think the judges are just annoyed that the public just 'don't get it' and spell out who the better dancers are by inflating their marks even further.

I remember Zoe getting a ten for a very good dancer where there was a clear error. This was remarked on by Erin and I think put the favouritism thing in the minds of the public.

Also Ali got a ten for a group dance where she and Brian barged their way through the other dancers. Other pro's picked up on this as well.

Just my thoughts.”

I agree with your thoughts but I don't actually think it cost them too much.

Zoe could possibly have come ahead of Colin (I think he was undermarked, comparatively, by Len and Bruno for a couple of weeks) but that's debatable and she'd never have won.

Emma was only ever playing for third even if she hadn't had the judges kissing her rear from the moment she stepped onto the floor.

Ali might have beaten Ricky Whittle but that would have been a shame as she wasn't as good as he was. Like Zoe, she'd never have won.

I do agree with you, but some faces didn't even look right. Perhaps I'm just exaggerating.

Yet her Cha Cha is probably the most memorable and popular amongst the Strictly crowd (just look at the threads about favourite dances). Surely that depends on what you look for in a dance, does the dancing need the feel/emotion or the technique (most dancers have to opt for 1 of the 2).

As for the debate on series 6, that was (partly) settled at the end of series 7:

In my opinion she wasn't a very good dancer. With Natalie this year, technique is combined with performance, so I'm happy.

Alex Jones (she never scored overly highly, but I thought she was pretty poor and got higher scores than she deserved)

Pamela Stephenson - didn't think she was anywhere near as good as the judges made out. I think if she'd been younger her scores wouldn't have been as high.

Lisa Snowdon

Lisa Riley

So far this year - Ben Cohen (his salsa was ridiculously overmarked - all he did was a few good lifts and stood watching Kristina) and Mark Benton (his cha cha did not deserve 8s - he could be the Lisa Riley of this series - performance value covers lack of technique in the judges critiques).

She got a perfect score when there were mistakes, that is my objection. Louis' score wasn't perfect so the overmarking isn't as irritating (I happen to think his was on par with hers actually but we can agree to disagree...)

Every single Charleston last series was heinously overmarked to the extent that it basically became a "Get Out Of Jail Free" card.

Not it terms of marks, but the forced hysterics over whoever has been deemed the comedy contestant every year since Sargegate has been a bit much, especially now we're apparently crowning someone "People's Champion" about two dances in.

Already tired about thinking of Mark's and Dave's Charlestons

Mind you, think that the Charleston will be bad for most of them (except Ben for his lifts and offcourse Natalie who will be technically perfect, even if Artem comes up with a goofy routine).

I've got a feeling that Susanna's is going to be terrifying.

Pros don't come up with routines for charleston, they have a charleston man I believe as none of them are experts.

Can you make a charleston gurnometer for your blog?

Sophie didn't actually pull any faces at all, so you've still got time.

However high your level, Susanna is going to smash it, she's going to be Pamela Stephenson crossed with Lisa Riley.

And somewhere in a far off galaxy, an alien race cancels its possible invasion at the thought of this possibility...

Isn't a fauxmance when there isn't an actual romance, and it's all just rumours and innuendo?

Sophie & Brendan came up with their own routine (they both said so, and you can clearly see it in the vt before the dance).

I can't believe people are bringing in last years 'poor picked on Louis' theme into this thread....well I can, obviously people still haven't got over their guilt for supporting him.

I don't feel in the least bit guilty for supporting Louis thank you very much I'm proud that I supported him - he's a lovely, talented lad and with hard work and the help of my favourite pro Flavia he became a great dancer - she taught him well and choreographed some fantastic routines for him. It's a pity some of the fans of others celebs aren't gracious enough to acknowledge that even though they may not like him or enjoyed his dancing that others have every right to do so......but as I said before it's obvious some people still haven't got over his well deserved victory

That's a great clip, and no prizes who was head and shoulders better than the other between Rachel and Lisa.

It's almost embarrassing.
