contract phone not working at all
Gets a 2nd contract phone put on my name so I pay for myself and daughters phone with tmobile. her phone is working brilliant and has done for a while. gets myself one which came today from carphone warehouse. have had nothing but problems, I set it up and could make calls but no messages were sending. gets onto tmobile 150 spoke to a man who stated my phone was a payg one. told him no its not its a 24 month contract..he then preceded to chop me off so I had to ring back again.
gets another lady who said my account isn't set up for this new phone yet and said she'd do something her end to the settings etc and it should work tomorrow with txt messaging. I put it on itunes and reset hoping it would solve the problem but now its coming up "SIM NOT VALID" the sim card you currently have installed in this iphone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy etc etc. Please can someone explain what is wrong with my phone thanks. |

Have you used a different networks SIM? Did you swap SIM/Phone with your daughter? Both you and your daughter are on the same network on contract?
CPW iPhones lock to the network of the first SIM you insert in the phone. |

Did you buy this phone from a shop or online?

No known activation problems reported at Apple today. Suggest you reboot the phone (keep both buttons held until you see an Apple logo) and try again. If no joy there is little option but to call your network and get them to confirm the SIM is OK. They may offer to send you another SIM card.

It means the phone is locked to a different network.
