So, with two live shows down, and a lot more to go, has Luke Friend performed better than you thought he originally would? I'm more speaking in terms of his version of 'Let Her Go' (which was pretty good) rather than 'Every Breath You Take'. If he carries on, will he do better than, say, coming 9th (which alot of people predicted before the live shows) ?

Believe me, he's not even my favourite but, the performance last week has made me think there is potential

He is definitely better than most people thought (and deffo has more personality than people thought), but I feel ripped off when he starts moving around. He sounds good and connects with the song when not moving but becomes really sloppy when he starts running around the stage.

He's been pretty good I think. He, Rough Copy and Hannah have surprised me now.

I was expecting to hate him but after his performance last week he's one of my favourites now. I really like his style and he's the only one I can imagine actually being interested in an their music afterwards.

Infamous Aiden-hater , you never like any of the acts I like .

I've loved Luke since his audtion, lovely raspy tone to his voice and watching back on his youtube stuff - he clearly has so much passion when he songs.

is it just he has not been quite so bad as some of the other acts so has came across as better by comparison ?

I'm sorry. We just don't have the same taste but I think Luke is awful but I can concede not as awful as Aiden.

I'm not a huge fan and as someone else said he looks very awkward when he moves on stage. Having said that he can hold a tune and his voice is similar to Seal's so tonight, for all that it will be a bit of an impersonator/tribute act, shpuld go well.

I think he'd work better in a band than as a solo act - a proper band not a boyband.

Ive always felt he is the dark horse & will go alot further than a number of people thoiught. IMO he will follow a similiar path to marcus where nobody hates him but nobody really loves him & will slip unnoticed into the final

I thought he would be fodder and an easy early boot while the two much blander boys reach the latter stages, but he's getting good song choices that suit his style and don't demand too much vocal strength.
Still think he'll be the first boy to go and has bought himself a couple of extra weeks at most.

Not at all, I've found his performances either bad or average.

I think he's got a brilliant voice, but the performances so far haven't quite clicked for me - I think he's in slightly the wrong genre.

If he did some more folk-y rock songs (which, not wanting to judge based on his looks, but..., I think would be more to his taste as well) like James Taylor, Donovan, even Neil Young (but in a different pitch of course) then he would absolutely shine I reckon.

Do you think he would suit a Rod Stewart song?

Actually, I think his live performances have been a disappointment. His auditions were great and he's still one of the contestants I most look forward to,but so far he's not realized his potential. Personally I put much of the blame on Walsh - easily the worst mentor I've seen on the show.

What is the deal with his hair? Hair is self-cleaning and if you don't wash it it looks fab, but it takes perseverance as you need to avoid shampoo for a couple of months before the natural oils balance out.

Shame he's washed it, I guess it's the influence of that dreadful old dear Walsh, wanting Luke to be just the same as every other Justin Beiber wannabe.

Seconded. Flat as a pancake and can't hold a note for longer than about two seconds.
