mother and daughter gimmick muted for BB6
According to todays Daily Star the latest gimmick to hit BB could be a girl and her mum in the house.
Telly chiefs think a lass trying to enjoy herself whilst her mum looks on could lead to fireworks. Sounds desperate to me as though the chiefs at BB are looking to have Jerry Springer/Trisha type confrontations. Imagine if the mum and daughter are a pair of chavs. Not attractive TV in my book. Also the beauty of BB is that the house is made up of strangers who then form alliances which could make or break them. My message to the chiefs would be don't even go there, you're beginning to sound desperate......... |

Hmmm it could work well if one or the other is introduced into the house later on, but it smacks too much of Celeb Big Brother, its not true though. Its way too early to know what exactly Big Brother has planned, we're going to get a lot of this between now and May.

Daft idea, made up story. Can't the press wait until a bit closer to BB6 before running stuff like that? They haven't even had the auditions yet.

I hope this is not true. The whole point of BB is to put 12 people, who don't know eachother, in a house for X number of weeks.
I also disliked the Ex's thing in the US BB, too. |

i don't think that having 'total strangers' in the house was an explicit policy punted by the 'BB producers'..
with regards to entrants who know each other before applying, the only reference i can see in the "audition terms & conditions on Channel4's BB audition/faq-page" is that 'partners' ARE eligible... i assume mothers or daughters would be auditioned as 'individual' applicants, regardless. oooh!..it's still a dodgy-one tho'..by chance 'both' get thru.. if SPARKS fly,..especially while the 'moon' is turning,..remember!!..that is NORMAL!..hmmm..well at least when it comes to mums/daughters )

They did this in the last edition of the Italian BB -- a father and his daughter. They had been estranged, so the bosses thought it would create fireworks, but it was a terrible downer for everyone. The boys were afraid to flirt with the daughter because of the father; the father tried flirting with one of the younger housemates and everyone was disgusted. It made the first few weeks boring and uncomfortable.
Bad, bad idea. |

Wasn't it the Daily Star that had a headline about Shell's eviction on the final Wednesday when we had all seen it was the cowboy?
