Hi All

I have taken the above phone on contract with Vodafone. To my mind it is brilliant for everything that I need, or want, to do with it.

I have put a 32g micro SD card in it. However when running updates and downloads it keeps telling me that there is not enough storage, although I have the SD card as the default storage. Is there something I am not understanding about this? Sometimes one or two of the apps lose their logo and are replaced with the little android man. It tells me that the app is not installed and I end up ditching the app. However, when I go into the SD storage in 'settings' the apps still appear there.

I know that I am getting a bit long in the tooth but I can't work this out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Even when apps are transferred onto the SD Card, a small (and sometimes not so small) portion of the app has to remain on the internal storage. If you go into Settings > Storage > Apps, and Sort by Size, you will get an overview of the apps you have installed and how much space they're taking up on internal storage. For the top ones, it may be worth moving to SD card if you haven't already (though likely you have), or just removing them whilst you do the updates.

OP I don't have the phone but in addition to the reply from pi there are a couple of other things to consider.

Firstly although you have selected the SD card as the default storage are you sure it is installing the apps there? Download Apps2SD and see if that wants to transfer any.

Secondly what class of SD card have you got? You need a class 10 to make sure any apps wholly installed run without a problem.
