Robin and music

Do the pros get to pick their own music? Because I've been thinking the last couple of weeks that Robin picks some really great songs! Last year with Lisa I remember some great tracks, and he's danced to quite a few great tracks this year.

There has been some discussion about this in another thread - the general consensus seems to be that the pros pick a list of songs they would like to use but these have to be approved by Strictly.

I think it's the other way round - someone wrote into the Radio Times asking the same question last year and, if I remember correctly, the Strictly producers give each pro a list of 3 (or was it 4?) songs for each dance and the pro (and his celeb) have to choose one. That song is then cut down to the time required.

I remember thinking that, if James and DVO chose Walk Like an Egyptian for their Charleston, then how bad must the other two/three options have been?
