I don't normally do conspiracy theories but it occurs to me they may be building him to be the underdog for the final...

as much as I love Patrick and his timing , Ashley has so much more grace on the dance floor.

His legs are too short for his body plus he has a case of penguin stance syndrome so his dancing is never going to look pleasing on the eye. Coupled with Ola's dreadful choreography this couple have no real chance of winning. Patrick will be the top male.

he seems like a natural dancer imo

he trains fewer hours due to work commitments yet turns in a good/ok performance on the nite

Spot on.

I never watch HO, so I'd never heard of, or seen him before, but right from the word go, he has danced really well. He is consistently good, and never had a duff dance to date. He seem a decent bloke too.

I would love him to win, and am pretty sure he will be in the final at the very least. Go Ashley.

His dancing pleases my eyes every week, so speak for yourself.

ashley makes me laugh, he is a bit hyper and impulsive, gooning around like an adolescent, pulling silly faces, saying daft things in silly voices...

but his dancing is pretty wishywashy i really hate the dipped chin and the weird angle he always manages to get his head into, and he is no-where near patrick in the style and accomplishment stakes.

Yet someone stated in another thread he has no personality.

I don't agree that his dancing is wishywashy. If it were he'd be getting 30+ one week followed by mid-high twenties the next, the chin and head thing it's clear who your favourite judge is and the comparison to style, well I agree to an extent. Patrick is certainly more suave and there is a sophisticated elegance to the dances than Ashley but accomplishment - how do you define that?

It looks like Anton has been giving Ashley a few pointers that really was a Wonderful Waltz, a beautiful dance, Ashley definitely not invisible tonight

The wife and I were just saying the other day that in between each show we just forget he's in it. He just doesn't stick in the memory, pretty much as soon as his dance is over it leaves no impression (well maybe the silly cowboy outfit lingered a little).

Even the presence of Ola isn't enough to make him memorable.

He reminds me of a young David Beckham . Ok, not the life and soul of the party but he is a good looking guy, very pleasant on the eye .

That's exactly how I felt Rorschach, but Ashley has managed to make a bit more impact on Strictly in the last couple of weeks, which is to his credit.

Terry great thread. Ashley is a potential winner in my eyes he appeals to lots of folk I.e. Soap fans, ŵomen, blokes so does he appeal to me?????? He's ok but I do find him bit bland at times and his wandering hands slightly terrify me. Also although handsome he does have a long face so no he doesn't do it for me but Aljaz????????? Aaaaawwwww.

Ashley does seem to be coming out of the shadows on Strictly a bit like a late runner in a horse race that pips everyone at the chequered flag and wins the race at the last second by a hairs breath.

As you say Ashley does have a wide appeal and has the ability to draw votes from a number of different groups, all he needs now is a few more stand out dance performances on Strictly to force his way into the final and then, who knows.

When you say a "long face" do you mean he looks sad sometimes?

I'm normally quite observant but what's this about wandering hands, I'm guessing its not a song title lol ?

I think Aljaz does it for all the girls and quite a few of the boys too lol.

I like your race horse analogy and come to think of it Ashley does look a bit like a horse because of his long face.

I don't think there have been that many stand out dances this year, probably my favourite has been the MC hammer inspired cha cha cha (but then I am weird)

No I meant he has long jaw bone so in my eyes not traditionally handsome (ie square jawed hero) sometimes he reminds me of a young Bruce Forsyth.

Surely you must have noticed that Ashley does tend to wander up and down Ola's body when he's near to her, probably a nervous habit.

Ha ha so you a fan of Aljaz too then? Well I've seen some comments from women saying they don't like him that he has funny ears or whatever. We can't appeal to everybody can we no matter how good looking.

I don't think "fanciability" earns as many votes as the cynics would like to believe; Chris Hollins, Julian Clary and Christopher Parker are hardly pulse-racing material, nice-guys though they clearly are, and Artem's attractions didn't enable him to win with Holly Valance- and she didn't fall out of the ugly tree either. Rav Wilding and Mark Foster were easy on the eye and it didn't get them far.
