Why does Bruce always say this everytime he announces him?

Yes I thought tonight he should move on.

Cause his name's Kevin and he's from Grimsby.

It's hardly rocket surgery.

Yes, and it was funny at first.

Now it's just stupid!

Cos he's from Grimsby? He is probably demonstrating that in his case he can pronounce both his name and where he comes from - something he struggles with for everyone else.

I think its funny, kind of endearing toward Kevin in a weird way.

But everyone else is announced by their first and second name.

Look, as a Fromgrimbsy myself, I'm sick of all this disrespect for a proud and ancient family name.

Did it not start with Zoe on ITT?

The Fromm-Grimsbeys are one of our most distinguished families.

True, but we are not idiots and do not need to keep being told this! Just another example of lack of anything worthwhile to say so he has to fill a gap with something, however meaningless.

His First name is Kevin.
His second name is Fromgrimsby?

Don't you mean rocket science or brain surgery?

Anyway, this question keeps coming up on various threads. It's simply a gimmick from the launch show that has stuck.

When the new pros were introducing themselves they said where they came from Ukraine, or whatever. Kevin could have said he was from England, or not bothered at all, but he said "I'm Kevin and I'm from Grimsby." It was said as a bit of a self-put-down come joke, and it stuck.. I don't see any problem with it.

I find it patronising.

It's a harmless in-joke which Kevin himself doesn't seem to mind.

Some people really will find anything to complain about

I love the 'career laughter' that Susannah and Kevin have to put on whenever Bruce makes this silly quip. Bruce - we get it - he's from Grimsby - now move on!

^^ This. I like all of the new dancers, but it seems rare to have new UK talent on the show, so it's good to celebrate it. I can't imagine him being called anything else now.

Maybe Kevin and many others don't. Maybe they simply treat it as a small joke.

I don't think that Kevin will see any harm in this.
