Does push to talk work in the uk at the moment, if so is it free, where can you download it?

Dont think it is currently availible in the UK, though on Friday's Gadget Show (Five) they did a test on it, and PTT looks very good. The show seemed to think it will be rolled out on all the UK networks by the end of the year and it will priced on a per month basis probably £10 or per call. The "per call" option seems best as it will be the same price as a SMS message. I suppose for people who havnt heard of PTT, in a nutshell it turns your mobile into walkie talkie and like MSN Messenger you can instant talk to your buddys. Already a billion PTT conversations take place in the USA per year. Sean

yeah but i dont htink itll take over sms...coz its ot discrete thats the beauty of text!

PTT looks interesting, I also saw the gadget show and like the look of it.
Seems to work really well in the states, here's hoping the same applies here if/when it's rolled out here.

I have found out that:

Nokia 3650, Nokia 6600, Nokia 7610, Nokia 7650, Nokia N-Gage, Sony Ericsson P800, Sony Ericsson P900 and Siemens SX-1 will support this service
