Salt in tomato juice
smudges dad

Why is there so much salt in tomato juice? I like to drink it as it's pretty sugar free and low calorie but the amount of salt is astronomical. Is there a low salt or salt free version (at a normal price)?

Either liquidise canned tomatoes as suggested or go to the street markets and buy a big bowl of them for £1.

Tomato juice can be frozen.

do they put extra salt in it? maybe it's just natural salt.

Tomatoes don't contain much salt at all. The makers add it.

I think tomato juice tastes better with just a little salt but the producers add much too much.

Sunraysia's tomato juice has nothing added and the sodium content is nil.

Amazon has a product called Eager 100% Pressed Tomato Juice which has no salt.

Ocado also sell it.

Thanks. Quite pricy from memory, but could fit the bill.
