Don't know much about porn but I'm guessing spreading your legs and practically revealing all must feature.

I agree with this, although Kristina comes over slightly better in the vt's. In the dances i find her abit much what with throwing her legs open any chance she gets
Reminds me of when my OH got to see a recording a couple of years back (the execution of Lulu ). There was also the infamous "Pans People" group dance, choreographed by Aliona with a lot of legs akimbo ... and sitting at floor level, got more than an eyeful, particularly from the lovely Katya, not Kristina and Ola.

In other words, it goes with the territory.

Tbf I've never been a big Kristina fan, I just never warmed to her and I don't think either are very good choreographers for their celebs. However I would never imagine anyone to be 'bitchy' or fake based on their facial expressions. There's a term 'game face' which is probably more applicable to those expressions than anything else. They are competitive of course, otherwise they wouldn't have made it professionally but I have to say I find some of the personal comments re how they look pretty uncalled for, particularly as they are nothing more than speculation.

What do you mean by"practically" revealing all?

Because I'm not sure that being covered, albeit not in swathes of fabric, would count.

Would you consider this porn, or are open legs and/or female bodies the key identifier?

I think what some people fail to grasp is that SCD is show business. That means that the people who partake are putting themselves up for criticism. They can't pick and choose what gets said about them. They are paid a good deal of money for what they do on the programme. On this forum, there are either people who just love an argument; those who are too insecure to post a thread themselves for fear of being ripped into yet criticise other people's threads and those who basically are just whingers looking for something to moan about. This forum is run by the moderators not some FMs who think they can tell others what they can and can't post. If you want to see nasty, then those who make all the comments about Bruce, take a look at yourselves because pound to a penny you moan about other people's comments. This is not being antagonistic this is expressing an opinion.

You identify three types of forum user there. No more. Which one are you?

Not perfect. I can take an opinion as well as give one depending on how the opinion is put across. I believe yesterday I was perfectly polite to you. One of the rules of the forum is that we respect each other is it not? I don't believe it says anything about you can't post this, that and t'other. It's tits and teeth is SCD and that's why this forum exists - to put it out in the open and discuss it.

That's not what I wrote and I'm not discussing Ola but the direction of your remarks and language, which seem to be increasingly denigrating of Ola in particular. She and Kristina are not the only members of SCD to engage in provocative photos. Some of the men have too and so singling them out seems inappopriate to me and irrelevant to a board discussing a dance programme.
It's basic misogyny. Unfortunately when someone has decided they don't like a woman for whatever reason they go straight for anything to do with their looks or anything sexual. Men are 'attacked' differently but with woman it's to do with them apparently not looking right or daring to be sexy. There's still this underlying vibe in society where women get judged much more harshly for anything to do with sex than men. There's absolutely nothing wrong with women looking sexy, enjoying sex, being sexual but you still get people who decide that 'slut shaming' is a fine way to justify their dislike. That's far more trashy than a few provocative photos imo.

As you said, how often on places like these do you see men being singled out for the same criticism? I can't say I've ever seen a 'I hate Artem, omg he's so trashy, look at this photoshoot he did!' post.

There's plenty of comments about men's chests on here and the shape of contestants both male and female. What about the comments about men who are on the larger side? Makes me laugh because there's plenty of you who will make comments at home that you wouldn't dare say on here no doubt. I don't know that but what a boring programme it would be, if we didn't have a good bitch and what a boring forum this would be if we all thought the same

So negative about Ola and Kristina

At the end of the day they're clearly good dancers because they were chosen to be professionals on Strictly (And Kristina was also in Burn The Floor last year along with Robin, Karen, Janette, Aljaz and Kevin, if I remember rightly) and as far as costumes go - that is decided by the wardrobe dept. I think they tend to go with what works in the past...

Also, choreography wise, they tend to do what they think is best for the celebrity.

As for Calendars - I've got both of them! It's up to them how they want to do their calendars, and they're both pretty enough to do it however they want... I quite like them anyway
Dancers working life is not long, especially for the women.
They are not doing anything any different to actors and actress and models. If I remember rightly, didnt Louis Smith do some provocative poses, not sure if it was for a calendar. Doesn't Kylie Minogue pose for calendars year in year out. Here she is older than Ola
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yXRXmIVtYDw

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LSkVxaF8Xtg A bit tamer

And she still continues to pose and why not.
http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrit...-prove-2366094

She is in the entertainments world. Can hardly expect people to work in a 9 to 5 office work when they have known nothing but entertainment and showbiz.

We saw it with you Terry when that disgusting personal thread was made - didn't see all these people having anything to say about that nastiness. What about the Claudia thread on how she dresses and looks? Oh well, I spent enough time on here yesterday justifying my thread, not doing it again today. Hope you're well

Of course men are judged on their appearance too. It's an image obsessed industry.

But they aren't negatively judged on their sexuality in the way women are and as comments on this post were doing. THAT has very uncomfortable undertones and it is misogynistic and is pretty sad to see in all honesty.

Then surely it follows that you also think that people using themselves as sex objects for people to perv over is also an issue - both male and female? Social Sciences debates on an entertainment forum are not for me; I spent enough of my time looking at all that when I was a student. I come on here for a bit of gossip and light relief because it's all celluloid to me.

So you're none of the three types you exclusively identified there. I'm sure others will feel the same.

Nope. I think it's absolutely entirely up to them what they do with their own body and what they're comfortable with and make no judgement on their character because they want to be sexy. Why should I think any less of them? I don't base my notion of that person's value on backwards views regarding sexuality.

Just think it's pretty sad and telling that we've got the same old double standards being portrayed here. If people want to attack a woman they don't like then they immediately go for things that can be related to sex and sexual morality and that is clearly problematic when it comes to how women are treated.

If Artem, Ola and Kristina want to pose for photoshoots and calendars and there's people out there who want to buy them, what's the problem? They're attractive people and if they want to raise their public image, why not?

I've also found it the case sometimes where Ola has taken a lot of criticism for showing off her body when she has a celeb who isn't especially good whereas Artem is let off more when he has done it. I think the key word here is "consistency". If someone doesn't mind when Artem does it, they shouldn't moan when Ola does it and vice versa.

which type are you ? Not that it's any of my business the same as what I type on here is none of yours as long as I stay within the rules of the Forum. I'm not sure why you keep feeling the need to try and put me on the spot . Amazing how much interest this thread has invoked though yet the threads about Claudia's dress sense and looking like a zombie go ignored. Selective reading I think. You learn something new on here each season

I don't think either of us is in the categories you identified, but the way you wrote it looked to me like they were the only categories of user you recognized. I felt that to be unfair on both of us and on many other users.

Please calm down. This is not a personal attack. I am trying to get you to re-engage with the substance of the original debate rather than continuing to focus on how individual people respond to it.

Fake user profiles that exist to agree with the owner's main profile. It's a good term for it!

I really like both Ola and Kristina.

And whilst I can't comment on this year's, I got my OH Ola's calendar last year and it wasn't tacky at all, she was stunning in it.
