I think it was just one of those perfect I-love-it-when-a-plan-comes-together moments. The music, the choreography, the costumes, the chemistry - they just all combined to make soemthing that was greater than the sum of its parts. Not that I take any of this dancing malarkey too seriously or anything....

Has there been 1 or 2 moments on strictly that just wowed you? If I had have been old enough to appreciate Jill's jive in series 2 it would be that, but for me it's either Rachel and Vincent's AT, Kelly and Brendan's Viennese Waltz or Matt and Flavia's Salsa!
What about everyone else? |

I loved Karen and Mark Ramprakash's Viennise Waltz. I thought they were such a lovely couple to watch and Karen looked like a Dior model in her dress. Another favourite was Zoe and Ian's Tango

No point listing all my favourite dances - I'm sure that has been done in the recent past. For standout moments on Strictly, I think I have 3. In no particular order:
Mark and Karen's AT - this was the first year the AT was performed on Strictly and their routine was incredible. I have seen better ATs since then (e.g. Rachel and Vincent's, and a few from DWTS) but for a "first of type" this was fantastic. Alesha and Matthew's waltz - this was the dance that made me love the waltz (I've since gone back to finding it mostly dull) and the partnership. Len ruined it in the final by not giving it a 10, so I'm referring to the one danced mid-series... Kristina and John's paso - this was a stand-out moment for all the wrong reasons, but remains the funniest thing I've ever seen on Strictly. My interest in Strictly was at its peak between series 4 and 6. Since series 7 onwards I have become increasingly less invested in it, although it's still my favourite thing on telly. Series 5 was the stand-out series for me by a country mile, so if I had to pick just one thing... it'd be series 5. |

1 - Colin and Erin's Semi Final Rumba. First Strictly dance that moved me to tears.
2 - Ricky and Natalie's Semi Final Waltz. Simply stunning. 3 - Rachel and Vincent's Jive - I know there have been technically better jives but, that's the one I go back to time and time again. They were both so joyful, and you can almost hear them singing along to the song. There are loads more like M&K's AT and Salsa, Ray and Camilla's VW, Louis and Flavia's Foxtrot to name but a few. I also must give an honorable mention to John and Nicole's Salsa. Len's 10 got panned on here at the time but, when you watch it back Nicole really did give him a fantastic routine, with great music which he performed admirably. |

I loved:
Chelsee's Jive, Charleston and QS. Ricky Whittle's QS was sublime and was my turning point for adoring Natalie. Matt DiAngelo's Salsa. Kelly Brook AS with illegal lift and all. Rachel Stevens Rhumba and AT. Ramps AT and Salsa. Louis Smith's Showdance with Flavia. Tom Chamber's Showdance with Camilla. Colin Jackson's QS. Zoe Ball's Tango. Russell Grant's Foxtrot and AS. John Sergeant Paso & Waltz. |

And a pro one - Katya and Pasha's jive/quickstep to Caro Emerald singing "That Man". One of the fastest jives I've ever seen, and a glimpse of what Katya might have done if she'd ever been given a genuine contender.
Personal fave - Ali and Brian's AS. |

Karen and Mark's AT from the semi-final. Loved everything about it, from the VT beforehand (back when the vt's were informative and really gave an insight into training) to the dance, through to the emotional judges scores. Fabulous Strictly moment.
Matt and Flavia's salsa. Hot!Hot!Hot!!! Kara and Artem's partnership. A wonderful love story played out each week. |

Chris Parker's paso Aled and Lilia samba James and Camilla tango - choreography never been beaten imo Zoe and Ian tango - best traditional tango Gethin and Camilla waltz and jive Matt and Aliona rumba Harry and Aliona Vienniese Waltz- I love it's soulfulness and from a judge Arlene saying to Matt Dawson "I just want raw sex" Bruce nearly fainted

So funny and made all the funnier because I didn't get a sense of him trying to be funny. I genuinely believe he was trying his best to perform the dance and convey the spirit of it. Bless. The attempts since then of the no-hoper trying to be funny just annoy me. |

What about everyone else? Series 1 - Chris Parker's Paso (memorable but for all the wrong reasons) Series 1 - Natasha winning the first series Series 2 - Jill's jive, the 1st 40 ![]() Episode 1 of series 3 - Colin Jackson came out and wowed everyone only for Zoe and Ian to come out and do a breathtaking waltz and beat him to the top of the leaderboard Series 3 - Zoe's American Smooth - Ian was very creative as it is still about the only AS I can remember that was not done as a foxtrot Series 3 - Zoe and Ian's showdance, still the best that I can remember (They woz robbed )Series 3 - Puppetgate Series 4 - Mark and Karen's salsa, particularly memorable because of the wardrobe malfunction Series 5 - Len tearing a strip off Kelly Brook because she hadn't practiced enough due to being at her father's hospital bedside ![]() Series 6 - Gabbygate ![]() Series 6 - Matt di Angelo forgetting his routine and sitting on the steps and the public saving him (what were they thinking - slap head smilie) Series 8 - Chris & Ola's Charleston Series 10 - Sophie & Brendan's Charleston |

Mark and Karen's AT.
Still leaves me having to pick my jaw up off the floor. Similarly their salsa always cheers me up. Louis' showdance (and final salsa and fusion too). One that still stands out for the wrong reasons is one of Peter Schmeichel's where he basically forgot his routine completely and just made it up as he went along. |
