I have the same problem. They keep asking for my password for some strange reason. I thought the whole idea of downloading Apps was with fingerprint ID once you've ticked the option to use your fingerprint for purchases and free downloads?

Does it say 'enter password to renew Touch ID'?

Unfortunately, I think it has the same restriction as unlocking the phone. If you haven't used it for 48 hours (in the Store, I mean) or you've restarted, you'll have to use your password for your first purchase. After that, it should ask you to scan your fingerprint after you press Buy or Install. I think if you don't download things frequently, you'll never be able to use Touch ID.

Try it now with a couple of free apps.

Further to the above, it seems to have got a bit confusing in 7.0.3.

Instead of saying 'scan fingerprint' it comes up with a box that says Touch ID and underneath, options for 'enter password' or 'cancel'. That's the point at which you scan your fingerprint.

I'm still on 7.02 ATM as I am in Kenya and don't really want to do a large download on my cellular data.

I downloaded two apps today and sure enough for the second one I was able to use Touch ID

Yeah, I think it has the 48 hour cut-off. A bit annoying because I don't necessarily download apps and music THAT frequently, and when I do it tends to be one at a time.

That's rather stupid isn't it. What's the point of setting up fingerprint ID for Apps downloads when it only lasts 48 hours.
