He wasn't handed any extra life that the other jury members were denied. They all had a shot at returning, Gary happened to win the most votes.
As for "justice being served", that makes no sense to be because no cheating occured. Justice for what? Something that was out of Gary's hands? It's not like he stormed the house and demanded to be allowed to return. I DO think it was a little karmic that she made the mistake while saying "My vote is 100 PERCENT" (and I say this as a big Topaz fan), but there was no justice to be served imo. Emmett bleating on about how Gary returning meant he didn't deserve to win was especially ridiculous. If he felt that way and had any credibility, he would have evicted Gary over Talla. Oh, so Gary deserves to be there while he can help Emmett, but as soon as it backfires, him returning was unfair? Prat. ![]() If they had announced the twist before they knew the first jury member, then I can sort of accept that, as they have no way of knowing who will be there, but when it's all kept quiet from us until it suits them, it annoys me. What's the point of the game if the producers are just going to keep helping their chosen one(s) out when needed? Julian didn't get the chance of having two lives. Neither did Emmett, Talla or Kat. Only four of the 15 housemates got a shot at it. Hardly fair. |

I'm curious about the launch date, and how much it will interfere with the Winter Olympics. Now, before you start saying that I'm a bit misguided with the dates; the Winter Olympics end in February, and this show starts in March, let me explain.
The HGs have to go to sequester about one or two weeks before the programme launches on air. If Slice plans to premiere the season in early March, it means the HGs have to go into sequester around late February. That means they'll be missing the Olympics, mainly the men's hockey tournament. And as you should know, Canadians have a massive affinity to hockey. To miss out on Canada potentially preserving its title for a second Olympics is something no Canadian would ever miss out on. After all, the men's gold medal game between the US and Canada way back in Vancouver in 2010 was the most watched television broadcast in Canadian history, with a staggering peak audience of 27 million. Keep in mind that Canada's population is hovering around 34 million, so the proportion of viewers who tuned in for some part of is around a massive 80%. Compare that to the peak audience of 26 million of the UK's 63 million who tuned in for the London Olympics closing ceremony, a little over 40% of the population. Or even the most watched broadcast in British history: the 1966 World Cup final. 32 million of the country's then 55 million population watched, but that only accounts for under 60% of the entire country watching. Of course, there's bias in the viewership here, given the locality of these three events, but it still goes to show that Canadians are passionate about their hockey. I may be a BB fan, but I can't miss a good game of hockey.

I'm sure they'll still be plenty of people to choose from. |

When I passed by the auditions that were happening in my city, there were a few auditioners donning jerseys of the hometown NHL team. I'm pretty sure there will be a good chunk of HGs who are quite fond of Canada's winter sport. Plus, they had a hockey themed POV one week in the house last year.
But hey, if you're willing to miss out on such a huge sporting event, so be it. ![]() Oh, and BTW, they announced two things: 1) Launch date is March 5. Given that the launch date is highly unlikely to be live (probably taped a week before), the HGs are definitely going to be in sequester during the Olympics. 2) There will be a weekly spinoff show called the Big Brother Canada Side Show (or BBCanSS as it's expected to be abbreviated) hosted by Arisa and two former BBCAN1 HGs: Gary and Peter. It's going to air after the evictions on Thursday, and will be dishing on everything that's been going on in the house the past week. I reckon this will be like a Big Mouth meets BBBOTS meets House Calls. http://online.wsj.com/article/PR-CO-...20-904867.html |

Peter and Gary, really? I wouldn't have picked those two for an in-depth analysis of the house guests social behaviour. They were completely clueless almost the entirety of the game, especially Peter.

I'm so excited for a new Canada season!!! Last season was a lot of fun even though it didn't work out as i'd hoped. Hard to forget that night Talla got blackout drunk and Peter was dragging her around and the feeds went dark and no one knew what happened to her.
I hope they improve on running the live feed though, there was too much downtime last year. We missed Topaz going off on Liza and that night of truth or dare that looked fun. And that entire weekend blackout. Also it was kind of lame they started to censor it, the housemates were told to watch their language as it went on, and things were cut so much faster than they were earlier in talking about certain things. At the beginning the feeds were awesome, barely anything was censored and they let things play out a bit before it was cut. Not too thrilled about Gary co-hosting the side show, not a fan. I don't see what he could bring to the show except being loud and over the top. Loud Gay and Loud Peter together? My ears are in pain already. |

It does kind of make sense. They were the two housemates the highlights show were pushing week in / week out. Personally I thought they were awful at the game and the social aspects of the show so I've no idea what kind of insight they'll bring.
Although I am glad they're rewarding previous players instead of bringing in z-lister celebs no one cares about the opinion of anyway, like we do with BB UK. I just read the live feeds are free again this year which probably means little to no live feed Friday to Sunday afternoon UK time every week again. I hope they mix in more UK/AUS tasks this time, some of the best parts of the Canada show were when they threw in tasks with the rewards and punishments.

What the! In my post, two posts up i put "loud Gay" instead of "loud Gary", i usually re-read my post right after to edit it because i usually make slight wording mistakes such as that especially with names, and i was almost positive i edited that to Gary!
Could a mod edit that possibly? "Loud Gay" is definitely not what i was trying to say there, the capital G shows that i was meaning Gary. A rather unfortunate mistype there.

Hopefully Peter will have gotten over Jillian beating him by now. I don't think I could stomach a series of him hating on her, and his delusions on how great of a player he was, when in reality he was an Erika, but vocal about his plans.

I'm curious as to where you read about the live feeds being free.
"YES!! #BBCAN2 live feeds will be available (and free!) to fuel you, our #BBCANSuperfan army." |

I hope we get a "GinaMarie speech" at some point this series. To pull off such a huge blindside, only to give this speech: Quote:
You guys are a huge dymanic - excuse me, no. It had me in tears of laughter for weeks. You guys are a huge... ![]() You guys are a huge dymanic - UGH ![]() You guys are a huge power couple... I'm gonna have to go and watch it again now

It's not Gary that I dislike - it's the manipulation. I actually liked Gary more than Jillian, and much, much more than Emmett. I just don't think it's fair to get another shot once your game is over. It comes across as desperate from the producers. They knew full well Gary would most likely win the vote, and he did.
If they had announced the twist before they knew the first jury member, then I can sort of accept that, as they have no way of knowing who will be there, but when it's all kept quiet from us until it suits them, it annoys me. ![]() Usually, someone starts an episode discussion thread on here, and provides links to where we can watch the show live. You can watch series one of Big Brother Canada right now on YouTube. Likewise, the full series of Big Brother USA (series 1 - 15) are on there, too. It's a very different format to the UK format. |
