Everyone was so sure she'd be in the bottom two last week and this week too but she seems to be sailing through. Why'd think she's picking up so many votes?

Oh, come on. At least Abi has potential to be good.

HAHA very harsh words there.

Why were people convinced she'd be bottom? She's shit but she is likely to have a big fan base, just like how Diana and Janet did.

Abi is pale

Chris was Orange...

This is the main difference and we still haven't met Abi's nan.

Someone must have stolen Abi's gumption, her accent and personality are so one dimensional.

I'd still take her to dinner and treat her like a princess though.

I think she is not a strong or experienced enough singer for the show, but still , she has some musicality and talent, and seems like a nice person who may be trying too hard to employ a contrived image with the understandable motive of wanting to gain support .

Maloney shared only the contrived image, but at least Abi's seems based on qualities she actually possesses.

Maybe she can borrow Chris' nan for the evening. Rent a Nan Maloney

Who was convinced Abi would be in the bottom this week or the previous? She's niche enough that she'll outlast the fodder at least. I'd give her until week 5/6. Maybe next week if she messes up again.

I just want her to do with a little help from my friends. Just to hear the opening line and find out!

I'm going to go on next year with MeAnnoyingFlatmate.

I think, like Chris, she's something of an underdog. And who doesn't wanna root for the underdog?

Also like Chris, she's becoming something of a scapegoat, an easy target. Granted, on the live shows so far she has been shockingly poor. But there will always be those who, shark like, smell the blood in the water and simply go for kill just because they can. There's something abhorrent about that kind of mob attack mentality, so when someone like Chris or Abi can rise to challenge the status quo and to silence the smug detractors, it can be perversely enjoyable. They're success on the show isn't because of the show, it's in spite of it. It's strangely admirable. In an odd kind of way.

She doesn't appear to be "sailing" through at all. The only 2 people who are definitely sailing through are Sam B and Nicholas. The rest could end up in the bottom 2 any time soon.

Abi is too boring, her singing is enough to make me sleep. If she wants to open up, she needs to really come out of her shell and give us that oomph in her performances rather than acting like a grandma.

How silly!

Abi has a unique tone to her voice, is multi-instrumental, and writes her own beautiful songs - I think we should remember that she closed one of the audition shows with a standing ovation from the audience, so I don't see why everyone suddenly dislikes her now

She's the complete opposite, in my opinion

People don't really dislike her, its just that she needs to open up more.

I don't dislike her. I just think her voice is limited and there's only so much you can do with it, it gets boring after a while.

We won't know if she was sailing through until the voting stats are released. I expect she is getting through by the skin of her teeth. Now that the absolute fodder is gone I would be very surprised if she isn't in the bottom two in the next couple of weeks.

She definitely doesn't seem to be as popular as past whispery/squeaky singers like Diana and Janet.

I like Abi, but I do think Janet and Diana were better are what they did and had much stronger voices.

Abi's got a softer voice but she has songwriting on her side. I hope we get to see her not changing up fast-paced songs but doing other stuff with the ballads.

I like her.

So she misses a few notes here and there, at least she's a proper musician, and she has a style of her own.

No way Abi is talented but Chris wasnt

Chris went awry early on with song choices, but he really did have a good voice. Abi is far more limited, but capable of putting in a decent performance every now and again. Song choice and arrangement will be even more crucial for Abi than they were for Chris and, so far, she's failing there.

Maloney may not have been everyone's cup of tea but he had a great voice and sang popular songs each week. I enjoyed the nostalgia that he presented so well. Abi, on the other hand, is just a poor singer.
