Has any of you seen this film? It stars jamie bell , chris evans and ed Harris. It looks good and I like the premise but I've been conned before by a trailer. (World war z) so wonderd if anyone has seen it and can recommend it to me. Cheers

It doesn't have a UK distribution deal yet. (The Weinstein Company owns UK rights, but a distributor is yet to pick them up).

And to make matters worse, Harvey Weinstein has decided to recut the film for all of the markets TWC owns, including the UK, because apparently it's too intelligent for American audiences. Perhaps, this blatant patronisation it's what's putting British distributors off, because it's certainly putting me off going to see it in the cinema...

(I'd rather wait for a director's cut to emerge on blu-ray, and if that doesn't happen I shall be pissed off)

Too intelligent for us eh? Surely he is winding up a massive part of his profits targets? Just doesn't make sense.

No. Too intelligent for Midwestern Americans, assuming you're British, you'll be fine...

He's pissing off the cult audience, but most of the mainstream audience won't know or care. I'd imagine Harvey Weinstein hoping for something big, big enough to disregard the cult audience that wants the director's cut...

A better quality, longer trailer for the movie that gives a much better impression of how it looks and what it is all about -

And the good news is that it looks like the original cut will be released after all...though more likely on blu ray and dvd before a cinema release.

Actually quite like that idea, because it's a film I cannot see getting a wide release in cinemas anyway, because you just know the suits will decide it's not going to make any money.

More than happy to watch this on blu ray in it's original cut (I am multi region).

I saw this last night. Quite enjoyed it.

I'm sure it's quite a cerebral film but the ending reminded me a little of The Matrix. I couldn't help think if the Wotchiwskis had read Le Transperceneige.

Still I think think this is worth a look see!

Finally got to watch Snowpiercer yesterday after giving up on Harvey sodding Weinstein ever releasing it in the cinema, biting the bullet and getting the Blu-ray imported from Korea.

Great film, loved it. Some suspension of disbelief is required (it's a film about a train forever circling the planet carrying the last survivors of the human race through an icy wasteland...) but the story is interesting, the characters are good (particular Tilda Swinton as a Yorkshire version of Margaret Thatcher) and the set/special effect are first rate. The film reminded me somewhat of Brazil in parts.

I also like that Song Kang-ho had a larger role than I'd heard. One of my favourite actors in the world.

Saw it lasf year. A couple of hours of my life I will never get back. Dont get me wrong, I love a complex post apocalyptic thriller, so this type of film should be my cup of tea. But truth be told, it was pure tosh. I was falling to sleep.

It seems to be polarising, I've seen lots of people really like it and a fair few people that think it's crap, nobody in the middle (although that could be because nobody feels compelled to inform everyone about how mediocre a film they just saw was)...

Total crap apart from Tilda Swinton, whose rubbish filter is clearly not working.
