Have EE dropped inclusive BT Openzone wifi?

It mentions virgin wifi on the underground but I can't see any mention of BT Openzone wifi being included on the EE plans now?

Yes, on the new plans it is no longer available.

I never used it anyway.

Never works for me through vodafone so doubt it's that much of a loss really

I rather suspect EE have dropped it because it's too useful - I have BT wifi as part of my home broadband - since I started using it on my mobile I've gone from using 1gb+ a month of data to less than 100mb - there are so many hotspots I now have data turned off on my phone now - why use mobile data when Wifi is faster and uses less power?

It was only ever premium hotspots wasn't it? Of which there are so few its hardly worth bloody bothering!

I think there is only 10 thousand or so premium BT Wifi hotspots, it does not grant you access to those BT Wifi which runs off BT Broadband customers it seems.

That is different!

BT WiFi as part of a HOME broadband deal gives access to not only "proper" BT WiFi HotSpots but ALSO the large number of BTFon "home" ones. BT WiFi as part of the EE deal only ever gave access to the commercial BT HotSpots in business premises.

I never got it to work and could never work out how to log in.. and EE's own forum was not very helpful.

I think I got to understand the difference between BT Openworld and BT WiFi, but I couldn't log in on anything run by BT. Not once. Ever!

A rather pointless offering to customers in reality. Perhaps this is the Orange side of the business keen to 'simplify' things?
