iPhone 4S Power Button broken
Hey Guys
On Sunday the power button on my iPhone 4S broke i.e. it doesn't press anymore, it doesn't 'click back' from the press, which I gather is a common fault on the 4 and 4S. For now I'm using Assistive Touch to lock the phone, but this is a flamin' nuisance. I was going to book a Genius Bar appointment but figured it'd be easier to ask here first before catching a train 40 miles to be told the same thing. So my question is... the phone is now out of warranty, how much are we talking to get this fixed? Cheers

Think it's gonna take more than $50. If you have enough budget, it's a good excuse to get an iPhone 5S.

It will cost £166.44 for an out of warranty replacement on a 4S.
http://support.apple.com/kb/index?pa...product=iphone Alternatively, there are 'kits' on eBay that allow for you to DIY if you're ok with taking the phone apart for a lot less. |

replace the button yourself, i did it.
the part is £8. and it's not actually the button that has broken, it's the micro switch underneath - quite a common fault on the 4S's apparently. |

I'm really afraid of mine breaking as I don't have insurance. I have an iPhone 5 but we all know what iPhones are like for breaking.
