talkSPORT's coverage of both codes of rugby, in terms of the games they do and don't carry reports from, has been interesting. Since Richard Keys and Andy Gray took over the Friday night Kick Off slot, they have stopped carrying reports from Mark Wilson (of UTV Radio in the North-West) on Friday night Super League games, which had been a staple of the Danny Kelly-hosted Friday night show. They didn't even carry reports of any kind from the Super League Grand Final during Matchday Live. However, since the beginning of the Heineken Cup, Kick Off with Keys & Gray has began to carry updates on Friday night rugby union games - not just from Europe, but also from the Premiership (although there were no rugby updates on Friday just gone). Yet while their Super League coverage has tailed off, they have decided to carry Sky News Radio's syndicated updates on England's first two group games from the Rugby League World Cup. It'll be interesting to see if they'll only cover England's games or if they'll also take updates from some of the bigger games from the knockout stages not involving the host nation.

Monday 4th November - Free Radio 80s

Tom Ross presented The Goalzone's Extra Time alongside Ian Taylor, Dave Allen and Rod Harringon

PDC Grand Slam of Darts 2013 Draw - conducted by Ian Taylor, overseen by PDC media officer Dave Allen

I managed to miss this year's GSoD draw programme, so I'm not sure which (if any) qualifiers they interviewed via the telephone. I think Dan Dawson (he does the syndicated reports on PDC darts events and is a newsreader on Free Radio 80s) may also have been on hand in the studio in some capacity, as he was tweeting about their coverage of the draw yesterday.

BBC Bristol / Somerset

Ed Hadwin (studio host)

Sale Sharks v Bath (LV= Cup) - Nathan Middleton and Carl Yates (of BBC Manchester) (95.5FM / 104.6FM / Online)

Tom Bradshaw and Carl Fearns are at the ground ready to commentate for Radio Bristol, but 'constant ISDN problems' means that they will be using BBC Manchester's people until the connection is sorted.

The podcast has gone up since I wrote that message - basically all of the information I originally posted was correct, they didn't interview any of the qualifiers via phone as they have when covering this draw in previous years (they've broadcast every Grand Slam of Darts draw since the then-BRMB, Beacon and Mercia stations merged their sports coverage into a pan-West Midlands service in 2009). Dan Dawson wasn't involved as far as I heard, with Chris Coles on sports newsreading duty instead.

Sunday 10th November - Absolute Radio 90s

NFL on Absolute Radio 90s with Will Gavin and Dan Louw

American Football: NFL Week 10
Denver Broncos @ San Diego Chargers - Matt Smith and Tony Hill (9.25pm GMT commentary provided by Compass Media Networks)

There is a new voice presenting AR90s' NFL coverage tonight in Will Gavin and going by Twitter, I think this will be a regular thing. Adam Hunt, who presented the NFL on AR90s during the first nine weeks of the season, has changed his Twitter biography to note that he is now based in Florida rather than London and no longer lists AR90s as one of the broadcasters he works for. Over on Will Gavin's Twitter page, his biography indicates that he's now the host of the NFL on AR90s. For those not familiar with the name, like Hunt, Gavin has worked on talkSPORT's overnight sports show Extra Time (albeit as a co-host rather than as the lead presenter) and has also done the odd commentary on the talkSPORT Live international Premier League football radio world feed service. He's also commentated for the Perform Group's sports streaming and for Walsall FC's website's Saddlers Player services. And like Dan Louw, he's involved in an NFL podcast as one third of the Tuesday Morning Football team.

FAO Ian Cleverly: I've only just seen your post above this one. Thanks for grabbing the talkSPORT rugby union reporting details that I requested in the Radio Football Commentators and Reporters thread.

Interesting to hear that Gigi Salmon did a commentary for BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra - was this her first foray back on national radio in 11 years? She left talkSPORT to join Chelsea TV in 2002.

Given that there were a few new names to BBC Radio's tennis coverage involved in 5LSE's commentaries from the 02 Arena, did the BBC have some form of sharing arrangement with an in-house service here? I know Gigi for one has worked for the Radio Wimbledon and Live @ Wimbledon Radio services in the recent past.

I don't think there was any link up, I haven't seen any reference to one on the commentators various twitter feeds or when I was at the O2 last week.

Only Gigi Salmon and ABB made their BBC Radio tennis commentary debuts last week, everyone else has been on before.

The pattern was very much in line with previous years coverage, the correspondant and David Law there all week with various others doing the odd day or 2.

Does anyone have the commentary details for Radio 5 Live Sports Extra's coverage of the RLIF Rugby League World Cup group stages.

I know George Riley, Dave Woods, Stuart Pyke and Tulsen Tollett have done commentary stints, but not sure on which matches and who have been their summarisers.

Many thanks in advance for all info available

I have not been listening as I have Premier Sports, but the BBC have put out a podcast every match day so it could be found that way. The summarizers though have included John Kear, Jon Wells, Jon Wilkin, and Joanne Lester.

If no one else has the details or wants to find out I can go back through them after the tournament. The podcasts are on the 5 Live Specials feed.
