I'm not sure how popular it would prove with viewers either but it would be my dream come true to have that tuition every day and dance on SCD every week. I'd like to have Artem, Pasha or Kevin as my partner!

I always thought celebs were just actors, singers and dancers. I never included news casters or daytime TV presenters as celebs. So yes I didn't consider Rachel as a celeb.

I think its a wonderful idea.

I would certainly watch it.

I would never have the nerve to appear like that, as much as i wish i could dance like that.

If i HAD the nerve, which i don't, I think Artem is wonderful, and i have a bit of a pash for Pasha, so i'd probably say Robin, because he's plainly a lovely person, and i might not be so distracted as with Artem or Pasha (*turning bright red)

I would definitely watch a show like that.

I wouldn't want to take part, because I can't wear any kind of heels at all, (I live in flat shoes), and I wouldn't want to be on TV anyway.

I do like the idea of dancing with lovely Kevin though!

I'd do it in a heartbeat!

No idea where I'd find the time, but I'll figure something out......I'm sure I can manage on 3 hours sleep.

Definitely not. Generally I don't mind the idea of performing in front of others, but can't think of anything worse than the general public and internet forums, in particular, minutely examining every facial expression, move, spoken word, and commiserating with my professional partner (unless it's Anton in which case they'd be commiserating with me).

I would do it in a second. But unfortunately unlike celebrities, I live in reality and in reality I have a job lol. I would love to see my boss's face when I come in Monday morning - "sorry, Mr ********, can't work for the next few months, I'm learning to dance!". I don't think that would work, hence why they have celebrities do it.

I wouldn't watch it. The format doesn't lend itself to using non-slebs. GBBO and Masterchef are people who are already good at a skill being tested. Teaching members of the public who can't dance is not good TV - the current Natalie teaching the wedding couple shows that - or if you use people who can already dance then it becomes a ballroom version of So You Think You Can Dance. Maybe interesting for a niche audience but hardly Saturday night TV.

I quite enjoyed Diet on the Dancefloor, so I don't see why I wouldn't enjoy a non-celeb version of Strictly. Not a 'must-see', but I'd watch.

I'd take part too, given half a chance!

I think it's a brilliant idea. I would love to try and take part.

I have a son and daughter that would love to do it and they aged 22 and 18 respectively.

However though they have never been trained in ballroom they each have at least 15 years dance training behind them

As much as I would love to see the show, it could be over run with youngsters like my children.

No thanks. SCD is one of the few shows where I can tolerate the use of celebs for this period of time. Every day folk I don't mind on cooking shows or entering into other competitions where a career opportunity might be end prize, but leave Strictly as it is. The appeal of a Pro dancer coupling up with a Barry or Maude from wherever does noting for me.

Besides, doubt if the Pros would want to do two versions of the show a year, as just the one a year seems quite alot of effort (production wise etc, time wise etc). The BBC don't even pay their Pros enough for teaching celebs, so image what they'd get for teaching non-celebs (Pros past and present have already expressed their upset at not been paid enough, but prob tolerate it for their love of the show which, with amateurs thrown in, doubt would bring the same excitement for them to work for their fee).

If they did an amateur version the Pros on SCD might not want to teach amateurs on TV, ever thought of that (then new Pros with no TV profile might have to be drafted in). If they don't even teach amateurs outside of Strictly, then doubt theyd want to on national tv (as aybe some of them don't enjoy teaching aside from the exception of SCD - as not all dancers want to teach ordinarily).

If you want to learn from a Pros on SCD, then go to one of their classes (outsde of Strictly, if do it) or pay to see their indivudal shows which they also work hard on.

I can't imagine it'd be as long a series as the celeb one if there were two in a year. Might have to be an 'instead of' rather than an 'as well'.

And sorry, but what is the difference between being paid to teach someone famous who can't dance, and being paid to teach an unknown who can't dance? Unless you're seriously suggesting that getting to meet 'well known' people is worth a discount on their teaching skills to these pros.

At least with celebs you can network and maybe link up together that way, and carry on with partnerships for other shows, i.e. BTF or a Strictly type spin-off show. ).

I would think that even a dscounted fee on a TV show with a celeb would be higher than that asked for an amateur (on top of whatever other TV or theatre work you gain off the back of it). At the end of the days the Pros want to capitalise on their stint in TV (performance and income wise), and so getting money from shows where you can bring in large groups of people (off the back of SCD) as opposed to just teaching a few couples on TV, seems a much appealing prospect. Flavia & Vincent are probably salviating at the idea of being able to create their own theatre show with creatively wonderful routines, aidded in large part by the celeb version of SCD. And after the graft on teaching celebs on TV, some of which are awful, it must be so wonderful to still have the opportuity to dance properly on a stage show while the public are still maintating interest. If you can't get that stage or next tv opportunity, then teaching makes a whole lot of sense full time if that is the only option left.

You're right, it prob wouldn't be as long, as that would be too risky for the BBC to do. They'd have to start small, first, if they were ever going to go down this path. And on top of that, would Len and Bruno want to do it, or even Craig. They might not even have the time, as am sure some of them have other projects to do (other than just DWTS for Len and Bruno, or other stage show stuff for Craig). So if the judges weren't there, then new faces would be brought in to judge the coupels progress, which would bring about a new show in effect, esp if not all the SCD pros participated in addition. Then you wouldn't have SCD with amateurs, you'd just have an amateur dancing show. And if there are no judges (SCD or non Strictly then what the point of just seeing people learning to dance in a gym hall (or wherever they are). Aside from the Pros side, the idea of watching amateurs (at real beginner bog standard level) doesn't bring the same TV excitement, imo.

That's just my opinion. You don't have to agree, just as I don't have to agree with yours or anyone elses.
