OK, in the latest advert for the Nexus 7 it shows Google now being asked 'what is glossophobia?'

Now, being the sad person I am I thought I would try it.

No matter how hard I try to pronounce glossophobia it always thinks I'm saying claustrophobia.

Can anyone get their Google now to recognise glossophobia? Just curious.

I can't get it to understand "glossophobia" either. However:

1. Does everyone now have a FEMALE British voice on their Search results? When did that change? The device TTS voice is still male (satnav, book reading, etc) and the Google Now voice was the same last time I checked.

2. For some reason I really like that glossophobia ad. It's quite syruppy and a little bit twee so I'm surprised that I do, but it's actually a really good advert.

My Nexus 7 (2012) takes the question as "What is claustrophobia". Siri on my iPhone does a bit better and returns a Wiki page on Glossophobia.

haha i must be sad too.... because it was the first thing I tried as well.

and no.... it wouldn't recognise it.... it just kept coming up with claustrophobia.

you'd think if they were going to use it for an advertisement......................

Interestingly, having only seen this advert through YouTube or wherever, I just saw the advert for "real" at the cinema. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the UK version has the British Google Now voice in response to "what is glossophobia?", rather than the American, and better yet it had subtly changed the reminder that the mother sets for the boy from "... love, mom" to "... love, mum". Tiny, tiny change, but I thought it was a nice touch.

"What is claustrophobia"

"What is coming also phobia"

"What is caso4 p a"

"What is castle phobia"

"What is cause of okay"

I don't think it's designed for us celts.
