S4 Mini startup questions
Hya.
Just upgraded to a Galaxy S4 mini and I've been trawling google looking for ways to change my settings to what I need, as sometimes with this handset it isn't very clear, so I thought I'd ask all my questions on here in the hope that someone has already addressed all the issues... How do I permanently change the alarm tone? I keep setting to to one tone in particular on the alarm screen, but when it goes off it defaults to the same crappy one. Is there anywhere online I can find more ring/alert/alarm tones? The ones included are terrible! Can I set individual passwords for each app, like email, facebook and twitter? Umm, I'm sure there was more but I appear to have had a brain fart.... |

Go onto Google Play on your phone. On there download a free App called Zedge . There are many hundreds of different tones you can download for free .
They go straight into the sounds folder on your phone . So you can pick a different one for a text , and a different one for alarms etc . |

Passwords wise just don't leave yourself logged in to the apps you mention

That's brilliant. I've downloaded some alternative alert files, but I can't find a working driver for my mac to let me in there & install them....
Wait wait wait . What has a Mac go to do with anything This is a phone which runs Android . You access Google Play store direct from the phone . You then select required tone in the phone settings . There should be no involvement of a Mac at all . Unless I'm barking up the wrong tree . |

Zedge is an app on your phone, it downloads tones, notifications, wallpapers etc directly to your phone. There is no need to connect it to a computer.

Yep. Got Zedge on there now, thanks. My individual passwords are pretty complicated and lengthy, and I tend to stay logged in. Thought you may be able to pass protect them from the phone, so I could enter a simpler password for all of them...
Seems legit |

Haha, I know, when you put it like that it sounds a bit mental, but if I were to leave it unattended for a minute or two, I'd like to stop people being able to see my shit
![]() Nevermind lol What you need then is to activate your SCREEN LOCK with a PIN. This can be done from your settings . I set mine to lock after 5 mins inactivity . This is in case I leave it on my desk and someone wants to browse my stuff. I set the PIN to the same as my bank card , easy peasy

Sort of begs the question, how many levels of password do you consider secure? |
