Karis a lot is down to the fact no one can see anyone on line, if you were right in front of us and said what you did in your first post most people would see you were worried and caring and would probably have just asked if you had seen any other vets before leaping to any conclusions. Here we just go on what is said in the OP and some people just make it up in their own minds. As I said earlier in the thread I have seen you posting previously so knew that you just wouldn't have left a dog in difficulty but anyone who didn't know you from other posts may have thought differently.

You also have to remember here we do sometimes get really worrying posters who do leave their animals in distress while they happily post here and ask what to do, emergency situations that would send any caring person hurrying to the vet not to DS to ask strangers for diagnosis.

None of this excuses anyone for adopting a shoot first - ask questions later.

And it certainly doesn't ever give anyone the right to be rude, or worse, cruel.

Everyone should always think before they post.

Indeed never a need for rudeness on or off the internet.

This is one of the reasons it's taken me so long to join. I've been lurking for years and see all sorts happen on here

Good luck to you and your fur baby, fingers and paws crossed he is back to his normal self soon - best warn the squirrels

Karis, I respectfully pointed out to you how your OP could be misconstrued and frankly your reply to me wasn't exactly civil so calling other people rude is a bit rich.

This is an Internet forum, and people can only see what you post, not who you are or what you do. If you post 'my dog couldn't walk for a month so I took him to the vet' what else are people supposed to think?

I suggest you go back and re-read my post. There was nothing even remotely rude in what I said.

But again, people only see what they want to see.

Honestly, I despair sometimes at the idiocy of people. This response is just nonsense. Actually, it's ridiculous beyond words. Have you even READ what you've just written? If you can go back and you're OK with that statement then there should be some kind of ban on people posting online.

It's only on the Internet can someone put the onus on someone ELSE for THEIR rudeness or, even worse, for their presumptions!

Anyway. This post has - like so many other advice posts - utterly failed in every single possible way, so I'm going to ask for it to be closed as it's revealed quite how many jackals are out there.

Rather than being angry, perhaps people should take a moment to look at their posts and really think about the way they come across to others.
