Is DARCY Now Best Judge On Strictly?-Constructive Judge Comment V Negative Critisism?

Darcy's constructive encouraging comments to the celebrities on Strictly Come Dancing have been praised on it takes two this week by Zoe Ball, is this the way to go and the lead that Craig Bruno and Len should follow ? Or is there still a place for the unpleasant negative personal remarks about the celebrities on the show ?

Len is still up there, but is Darcy now the shows Top judge with the viewers ?

As this is The Darcy Thread, What do you think of Darcy as a judge, a dancer and a person?

What do you like about Darcy or not like as the case may be ?

Does Darcy Do It For You ?

Lets hear the good and the bad about Craig, Bruno and Len from you at the same time ?

No Len is the only one qualified, so he has to be the best judge....... Like him or loathe him...!

Len may have some old dusty qualifications but time has moved on and his rude comments are no longer acceptable on a family show like Strictly Come Dancing, Darcy in comparison has actually danced on Strictly, can relate to and encourage the celebrities, and always provides constructive criticisms without the crudities.

Darcy is now without any doubt the best candidate for Head Judge on the panel.

No because she is swayed by the "look" and the "entertainment" value of the dance. Craig dispite being very annoying and sometomes down right rude often says what I've been thinking.

I don't know her as a person so can't comment.

Her provenance as a dancer is impeccable and while I accept ballet and ballroom are different, dance is dance and what she learned to become a world renowned prima ballerina qualifies her to critique any dance. Almost any dancer will tell you that a foundation of ballet is invaluable in learning how to use your body in dance,

As a SCD judge, I like that her critiques move beyond the comments we hear from Craig and Bruno such as you need to work on your balance or you keep loosing your neck. She makes these comments but tends to add a tip about how one might go about achieving that. Her tips work too.

I agree with all this...........if only her marks were consistent with her comments, she seems to have lost the plot this year with her marking....hence I will stick with Craig as the best of the bunch though I wish we could take the best bits from Craig and Darcey and we would have the perfect judge.

How can she comment Patrick messed up then give him a 10. Once she has the 'hots' for someone her balance goes out the window, shown this in every series so far... Nice person etc but little credibility and I rarely take any notice of her input..

Len doesn't seem to want to comment on the actual technicalities of dancing anymore
Bruno is just Bruno next
Craig, sometimes bang on, sometimes loses the plot. You just never know which one you'll get

Darcy will give a 10 to anyone who flashes a bit of chest!

This!
I do believe Darcy has improved as a judge on the show. I couldn't bear her in the beginning but now she's starting to make a lot more constructive sense. Bar her view of golden boy Patrick....she sees everything he does through rose coloured glassed..that 10 last week was just he clearly made mistakes and this week sure the dress malfunction was horrible and he did have good rhythm and moved great...but a 9. She lusts after him...no doubt in my mind...

I like the constructive critique she gives, advising contestants how to correct their mistakes, and suggesting ways to improve certain moves. BUT, in my opinion, her marking has been over generous at times. I just don't think people should be getting 10's unless it's damn near perfection but Darcey (along with Bruno and Len last night) is giving them out too easily.

Darcy lost my support when she started doling out '10's for dances that were not near enough perfect. Craig is the best judge although he does seem to have a down on Sophie but then they all do.

I think all the judges bring something to the table. As such there isn't a best judge. They are each pleased, or otherwise, by different things.

Len: Always marks relatively highly but hates gimmicks
Bruno: Tends to be generous and looks for passion and occasionally falls off his chair.
Darcy: Takes a cool common sense approach, gives constructive criticism
Craig: Mr Mean tends to make cutting comments and give miserly marks, but this sometimes works as a brake on over-marking and when he does give a 10, you know you've seen something phenomenal.

For me, the whole is better than the sum of the parts.

With all the judging ups and downs and especially Lens current inconsistencies, especially last night on Strictly at least we can say that we have one judge with her sensible head on in the shape of Darcy, its a breath of fresh air listening to her consistent constructive comments.

I think Darcy took a while to get into the job. This year she seems more at ease with herself and so she should be, she's the only judge who's ever achieved anything of significance in her career.

She doesn't feel the need to draw attention to herself, though I'd suggest the producers would prefer her to be more like the other three self-promoting numpties.

Bruno and Darcy are the better two. They're marking at the same level but it could be a point lower in general with a bit more work needed for the 9s and 10s.

I wish all of them would use a wider range of paddles and be consistent in their scoring. I think it's time to shake up the panel a bit.

In my analyses of the judges' scoring, which I've posted from time to time for the last 3 series, the most consistent, most objective scorer has been Bruno.

Len has been shown to have favourites, and of course has overmarked. Darcy has been similar, but less so. Obviously, Craig has scored most harshly, but he's been a bit inconsistent. Bruno, whilst not absolutely perfect, has scored fairly consistently between the extremes of Craig and Len.

Craig is undoubtably the best judge.
What name??

Craig despite a few errors is still by miles the best judge.

Don't like Darcy. Her nasal voice irritates me, her sidelong glance to Craig every times he holds up his paddle and she's becoming as bad as Bruno for jumping out of her seat - especially when awarding a 10.

Bruno(ex dancer and choreographer) looks at expressions ,emotion and quality of performance in dance.
Len(dance teacher) looks technical aspects, and Craig(musical back ground) looks at overall stage presentation.

It's nice to have Darcey, she seems to pay attention to the details, and I can see that she is so affectionate abut dancing.

But it's difficult to say who is the best because everyone's from different back ground, and feels that they all said interesting opinion(most of the time).

That doesn't make him the best judge. he is the most biased judge by far and is very inconsistent in applying the rules. He probably hasn't danced properly in decades and they could easily find someone to replace him.
