But hasn't a retired footballer commented on all sorts of sports for the BBC?

Bit in bold. Arlene is a choreographer. Not a B&L expert.

As was Alesha, its kinda of part of the female judge role for some reason to swoon over the slightest hint of chest. What baffles me is they gave both Karen Hardy and Karen Bruce screentests and picked Darcey, both of those would have made far more sense in terms of being able to formulate accurate critique in dance content and would have been much tougher than Darcey (but maybe they wanted the softly, softly approach?)

Hardly baffling that they chose pretty much the only dancer in the UK who was a 'household name' for doing something other than Strictly. Nobody has been able to build themselves a similar reputation since she retired either.

I quite agree dave, Darcy is unique and her experience in the dance world unequalled, she is without doubt the best qualified and most reasonable and sensible judge on the current Strictly panel.

Next to Craig.

Craig only seems bad because he is not afraid to use the full range of paddles available,

I have never thought of Craig as bad, he does seem to under mark all the time but I would put him second behind Darcy.

You could eventually be correct given a couple of years to learn ballroom any aspect of dance in hold is beyond Craig's knowledge

Craig and Bruno, yes Bruno are the best judges imo. They're fair most of the times and don't really play favorites like the other 2.

No. None of them play favourites. It's the viewers who have favourites and get all antzy when they don't get the votes they think they deserve .... and take it out on the judges.

I find it hard to believe that the judges do not have favourites especially after the results show on Sunday night, Darcy does seem to be very fair though.

I heard Darcey interviewed by Chris Evans last week and when asked who she would save between Jake and Simon, she said Jake. She would not give any preference over the 3 female celebs though .

Really?! Simon is much better than Jake. What did Chris say?

I do find that hard to believe perhaps she was misquoted.

Speaks volumes. Just goes to show how little she really does know in relation to dances on this show.

I think that Darcy knows a lot more than you give her credit for, certainly more than the others.
