for apple Mac users to boot into OS X recovery by rebooting and holding the command and r keys down (or reboot holding the alt/option key and choose recovery). From there, you can run Disk Utility to repair your hard drive. While there, repair permissions too

Yes, fair enough, but for me it may be sooner rather than later. And there is over fussy and there is controlling and ranting. I'm 44 FFS . They came with me to see one of my councillors the other week and she told them to back off a bit but they just dismissed her after and said she didn't know what she was talking about (she does and is extremely experienced) but they always know best!

What is wrong with laptop anyway? Is is totally dead? Or are you getting error or something? I doubt it it is worn out out. Doesn't really happen these days , and it's not that old. If it it is dead it's probably the fuse or something.
