I'm virtually spent up Eugene but it was fun spending it and some happy family members to boot!

Oh well it's pay day on Tuesday, I can live on old turkey bones and cold roast potatoes lol.

Been awake since early listening to the wind threatening a few roofs and satellite dishes

Morning all!! Glad you all had excellent Christmases We had a lovely time, the board game I got son and DIL called JACKOPOLY [version of Monopoly for Jack Russells] was a big hit and we played it Christmas Day evening. I WON! I had the most dogs, treats and big bones and the most money!!!

The turkey was fabulous, I cooked it a new way having read that encasing it entirely in foil for most of the cooking time kept it moister...certainly worked a treat, will cook it that way in future...and we will be eating it for some time to come

I've only got bones left Twass so send me some of yours down in some of that foil

Glad to hear it, so did I Mrs T....loved every moment! Will you stew your bones for turkey soup? I will be doing that and using the leftover gravy up in it! Still quite a lot of meat on ours though...

OMG my DIL's cake was outstanding!! So much for the diet...sod it, next week after New Year's will do!!

Phew that's a relief..

Hi everyone, I hope you all had a good Xmas I've just got back on the net which went out and the phone-lines are still dead. The river burst its banks here but luckily the houses are on a higher level. The flood was scary though - one car sank in it and had to be abandoned

Morning all miners! Glad to hear you're safe, Musty, the tractor pub garden and surrounds were flooded the other day when the Stour burst its banks locally.....and more rain is forecast! Everywhere is awash! A massive oak is down across the valley, visible from my bathroom window, and lots of other trees came down too. I lost lecky for about ten hours and thought I wouldn't be able to cook the turkey but fortunately it came back on in time to save Christmas!!
