You could try getting a pot of decaff and alternating so you halve your caffeine intake without really noticing

Today was meant to be e relaxing do nothing day and it's turned to stress.
Havwe to go out tomorrow to sort out keeping benefit payments going and on Tuesday it's New Years eve so obviously going out. So today was just chill but nope got a call asking to borrow money again. They needed it yrgently for Electric as they had none so had no choice.

Just so annoyed by having to go out and lending even MORE money. I forgot to close the front room window. Thankfully no-one came in but Never doing this again.

The money is another irritating issue. I have inherited debt from my mother I've been stuck paying since she died 10 years ago and no-one else has bothered to give me anything to help pay it off. That's about 6k right there.

And money I have lent or spent on behalf of the living accounts for around 1200 I'm owed!

So I'm effectively 8k or so down. Thanks family. Thanks for your generosity and open hands!

So anyway. Rant over.
How is everyone else today?

I'd have a word with Citizens Advice CB.

You shouldn't be paying off a debt which wasn't yours in the first place, plus it's been 10 years, it could be Statute Barred. I'd ask.

I'm alright CB. Skint myself, but not on the same level as you.

Afternoon CB, my advice to you would be to learn the word NO. You are not the only person folk can turn to when they need a few bob. The fact that you'll always help makes you an easy target.

And there is no way you should be paying off another person's debt, even if it was your own mother. Those are her debts, not yours! I'd do as eug suggests and see the CAB for advice on that.

I am good! Already had one bit of cake and planning on seconds later, not dieting til January Did you have a good Christmas?

Unfortunately there is nothing I can do about the debt as it was in my name. Two credit cards used in a business in my name but wasn't really my business. (Those I don't mind as much as I did use one of the credit cards afterwards for a while.) And a massive house clearing debt (where the bulk of debt lies) as when my mother passed and I was living there my name went on the lease and when we moved there was a ton of junk including my mothers ex boyfriends heavy machinery in the garden shed. And there is no chance of that asswipe ever offering to pay for it. He's 50/50 dead (good riddance) by now anyway.

On the plus that big debt; I made an agreed arrangement with the housing association to pay £10 a month. So I'm not really skint. It's just I need to pace out my money on paying the things. Hence why 10 years later there is still a lot.

Blast!
I made another essay on the thing again.

I hope you get some money and have a good new year. I'm going to watch some anime to cheer myself up before playing some more RE5

I did indeed have a good Christmas. Makes a change. Also I still have a couple of presents to come in the new year!

Too many unhappy Christmases

This year started awful. I lost my ESA and had to go on Jobseekers and my Sister had Cancer.
By the end I got a temporary work training placement. Extra money because of it and best of all after treatment the cancerous growth my sister had has reduced to almost nothing.
So we had reason to celebrate.

Lat year was pretty bad too. That's when my sister found she had cancer and I lost my dog of 17 years. And we didn't have much money so no-one could afford to buy much.
What a years difference makes.

You would not beleive the difference in my life. And I am so grateful for everything I now have, after four non-Christmases in a row and many years of Christmas before that when I was basically a kitchen slave who did everything while the ex husband sat doing zilch. Despite it all I have always loved Christmas, but this year, although we didn't do anything grand, was fabulous

Really glad your sister is now well

*dances round thread* I really hope so and at least those of us who have had sh*t Christmases really appreciate it when nothing goes wrong! Even when I had no electric from 23rd to halfway through Christmas Eve I was still determined to have Christmas, then it came back on and EVERYTHING WAS FAB!

We'll all have a good new year as well.

I'm challenging my mam to a game of DVD Bullseye. She's had the title for far too long, I want it

Incidently, I've been in this flat approaching 5 months now and not one "It's Miner" has visited me.

This will have to change in 2014!

We need to find some way of reducing the extortionate train fares!!! We'd have been there long before this if it were not over £100

However, where there's a will there's a way

£100 is a bit steep. Hopefully you can get it for a lot cheaper. Would be good to see you up in Gateshead.

It's a complete craphole, but it's my craphole and I love it

I'd love to.

If the council hadn't have been complete bell ends a month ago, I'd probably be heading down in the new year.

Still waiting to see how my DLA application goes, as that will help.

Love the new flat. Could still do with losing some weight.

Getting back on the radio was / is awesome. Just great to be able to channel myself into something again.

It honestly felt weird having access to all that music and the only person being able to hear it was myself.

It's not normal!!!! ”

Yeah but least you can drink it sensibly now, that's what I wa meaning

The weight loss can be the next thing Eug

I bet it was and I imagine it felt weird!!

Are they not trying to put you onto PiP straight away? Just know that all new applications of DLA were going onto that but don't know if it's started.

I know I'm having my lifetime award reviewed in 2015 and dreading the thing. Well it may not be that year. Hoping they'll keep it the same or if they don't, they stop it in 2016 as that's the year I'll be done studying and should hopefully be working. So much stress. Trying not to think about it yet. Just that I rely on it so much to pay my rent, my phone bill and when I didn't have my student loan (which isn't much) it was going on my travelling to college & placement.
