Coronation Street - All topics discussed
These rich suntans on Coronation Street characters in Weatherfield, Manchester, the official wettest and dampest county in the UK isn't it now getting a bit ridiculous how many turn up from nowhere with them?. Fair enough if a character has been away on holiday abroad in a hot country in the storyline but they're now turning up everywhere looking like foreigners last night it was Eileen in the taxi cab looking like a Greek goddess didn't Ivy once get sacked for coming back and not conforming with her character?.
And last night where were all the missing characters?, in one scene in the pub I counted 5 and the rest all extras, where was Rita, Dennis, Tracey, Rob, Maria, Marcus, Emily, Norris, Mary, Peter, Michelle, Audrey, Sophie, Tyrone, Fiz, Dev, Kirk, Beth, Jason, Eva, Chesney, Sinead, Katy, Lloyd, Gary, Izzy and Brian and Julie?. |

it would be more unrealistic if everyone in the street was in the pub.
in real life, some people actually stay home and watch telly. or go to the cinema. or even heaven forbid, a different pub to the one down their street. |

Hasn't this thread just removed the whole point of having a soap forum for Corrie?

Notice Eileen managed to nip to Audrey's and get a new "do" in between standing at the bar moaning to Lloyd and the ridiculous 'drunken 'scene with the other two witches, Dreary and Tarty Liz. Cringeworthy.

I agree with you last night in that Rovers Return alcove Eileen, Liz and Dreary did look and sound like 3 drunken witches.

Starting this thread wasn't just about what happened last night in any case it's been started up to post in future about anything we like about the program I hope you can understand and appreciate that melloncollie no offence and I hope you will post a little in future. |

I know we can't discuss the actual case and I'm definitely not interested in trying to but has anyone heard what's happening with Bill Roache regarding when the court case is?. (I thought it was to have started around the same time as Michael Le Vell's)
![]() I only ask because I want Ken back the show's really devalued without him.

The Platt clan all falling back into place tonight surprise surprise, Kylie back working in the restaurant, Leanne back with Nick, can we expect David back in his own house by the end of the week?, I don't think the odds will be high at the bookies.

Fake tan, sunbeds etc are more common nowadays. So your Tina's, Maria's and Eileen's are not unrealistic.
I don't see why everyone needs to suddenly be in the pub at once, that's an odd comment. |

I can understand the bosses at Coronation Street wanting to follow the Hayley story closely right to the end but with all this blanket coverage of it I hope we don't end up being sick to death of her character by the end like a lot of us usually do with characters that have been done to death with a storyline in the past, Hayley Cropper's character doesn't deserve that.
I thought the other night it was just too much, a one hour show mostly directed at this story, by the end they were (Hayley and Roy) - discussing how to boil an egg, I actually turned it off totally bored which is something I have never done before in a lot of years of watching the show. |

Tommy dumping Tina because 'she puts other people first'.
Is that even a reason for dumping someone? |

Is that even a reason for dumping someone? Am I the only one happy that the once clean smartly dressed David who so suddenly was then unshaved, filthy and a hoodie has now got grandma Audrey's roof to kip under it'll stop him living around corners of buildings, every time a Platt approached a corner in the last episodes David suddenly appeared from it, is that where he's been living and sleeping behind corners lately?.

Peter & Carla
Will we even get to the wedding ceremony this time or will we get there only to see yet another Coronation Street church alter fiasco?, after years of pantomime Corrie street weddings anything's possible.
This current storyline of Peter and Carla is yet another unrealistic load of garbage how much further are the makers determined to ruin this great show?. Poor scripts concentrating too long on individual storylines leaving us half the time bored to death and making a flagship successful show that has been running for 50 years and is loved by millions around the world take second precedence every time live football is on is only damaging this program. On a positive note the cast continue to turn out excellent performances consistently well, I wonder what some of them think of these scripts I really do. |

The pantomime weddings are something else. Either the bride or groom decides to stage a showdown with their intended spouse at the altar in full view of their relatives and friends (as happens all the time in real life) or news that one of them has been having an affair somehow comes to light at that moment

Last night's Peter and Carla storyline took a bit of believing didn't it?.
Carla's staying away from the flat and Peter because it's the traditional last night before a bride's wedding, Peter's left alone in the flat for the night, Carla then decides she doesn't want to stay away all night so totally unexpectedly decides to go home. (so far so good and believable) ![]() Meanwhile back at the flat Peter's got the booze out, booze that Carla's incredibly left sitting around in a cupboard knowing Peter's been left on his own all evening and night, knowing he's an out and out alcoholic and knowing he's currently going through a depressing and stressful time the very night before a wedding he's even told her he's having second thoughts about. (we're getting there nearly) And to finish off the lunacy Tina's in the flat practically panting like a sex starved nymph after Peter. IN WALKS CARLA ![]() ![]() (shock horror) and does she suspect her convicted bigamist fiancée to be up to anything? ... not a chance, "Tina's just popped round to see if Simon is alright" then Carla tops it all off with giving Tina a big hug and telling her what a good friend she's been, ... yea yea yea these scripts just get better and better. :s:s:s
