iPad Air - wifi+cellular

Any downside to getting the cellular option (other than cost)? Am unsure whether I want cellular or not, but if there are no downsides am happy to pay for the option.

Thanks!

If you have money to burn, go for it.

Personally, if I ever needed to use my iPad when out and about (which is rarely) I just tether to my phone. I see no point in paying for two data contracts.

Good point, Stig! I can't tether at the moment but will be swapping tariffs next year for one that can...hmmm

I used to have the iPad with retina display wifi but got the iPad air yesterday and it is on a data contract. I find its more convenient to just switch it on and it's connected. Plus it doesn't drain my phone battery whilst tethering as well like before. It depends on how much you take it out.

It's convenient if you want to use it connected outside regularly. If you don't, tethering should cover those few cases.

I got a contract ipad, as I couldn't afford the on cost of an ipad so I got it subsidised, I realise this is an expensive way to do it, but having the cellular version would of been ideal in the past, and I haven't had it.
