Hi, I'm updating the playlist for my iPod after a year. The music has needed a refresh for a while and I finally have time to do it today so I need your help with finding some new music.

Are there any tracks that have kind of dubsteppy chorus in it like the one in Ellie Goulding's Figure 8? Or alternatively are there any new dubstep tracks that are socially acceptable to listen to?

Even drum and bass?

Hiya

Ammm you should try out some SBTRKT or some Katy B . I would consider these to be two very fine artists with definite dubstep influences that are quite "socially acceptable to listen to".

Although I wouldn't limit your music purely to what you feel other people judge as socially acceptable.

It's not exactly 'socially acceptable' lol, but I think 'Stars Dance' by Selena Gomez has a similar kind of sound to Figure 8.

Maybe you should check out Disclosure and old school Artful Dodger. As for similar tracks to the one you mentioned Alex Clare - Too Close.

Disclosure - You & Me
Matrix & Futurebound - Magnetic Eyes

But 5 AM by Katy B and Don't Say A Word are also good songs and a bit of Drum & Bass.

Talking of Marina Radioactive is a brilliant song with a great dance vibe also Check out her Electra Heart album if your a fan of Ellie.

Also check out some of Florence + The Machine's Remoxes specifically:

Shake It Out- Benny Benassi Weekend Remix
Rabbit Heart- Jamie T Lionheart Mix

Also another act to check out would be Grimes and perhaps even Ladyhawke not dubstep but Magic, Back Of the Van, Paris is Burning, Dsuk Til Dawn all fantastic songs.

I will listen to whatever I find good music but what I meant by that is I don't want to listen to a dubstep track that's like wub-wub-wub. You know that strange sound?

I do, I'm not a particular fan of it myself

I'm glad you know what I'm talking about as I tried to describe it to one of my friends and they were like "what?".
