Many an X Factor contestant has gone on the show to escape their troubled lives, but this series, none more so than Hannah Barrett.
Just a few months before the reality show began, the 17-year old soul singer claims she often had less than a £5 to pay for food, forcing her to buy 13p packs of basic instant noodles to survive.
Speaking to the Daily Star on Sunday, Hannah said: 'I was 16 and I was very *vulnerable. It was a dark time and really hard to deal with. I had serious financial *problems. I didn’t have enough money to eat. It was really hard having to buy my own food at that age.'

She's so desperate.

You'd think it was the worst thing in the world having to actually WORK for a living wouldn't you.

What was the point of putting those twitter quotes in at the end?

They were comments from the DM article actually. And it was to highlight how no one's really falling for this sob story.

The moment anyone starts acting like they've had the hardest life EVER and are OWED their "dream" is the moment I go off them. I took a dislike to Hannah from the start when she declared it was her year - what arrogance.

Seems like a female James Arthur, thinking the world owes her something.

Well, it doesn't exactly look like she's been skipping meals.

Just sayin'.

Fgs another sob story, I'm sure she could have taken a sausage roll from Greggs to eat.

This is such a tired old responce on DS whenever anyone is criticised.

Not everyone is obsessed with how much money they have, believe it or not.

Lets just say she looks good for not having money too eat. Must of spent the little money she did have on cakes and pies

See it's things like this that makes me say something doesn't ring true with Hannah as there's no-way she's maintained the weight she is by surviving on 13p packet of noodles daily

Yep. Plus how does anyone on here have a clue of others finances? It does come across as very infantile

You can see by looking at her she's totally malnourished. The girl is skin and bones.
