Regardless of the cover version, I do think this song is the epitome of karaoke as its just so overplayed and everyone is so over familiar with it. Therefore to use such a song in one of these games I think is a big risk. I think that the song choice was a big mistake for you; you have an amazing voice, however the song wasn't changed enough to pull it out of good karaoke for me. Really considering the voice you have I did come away feeling slightly disappointed. I hope you stay around though and you are given something a little less tired to sing; you voice is amazing and you have a unique style which needs to be exploited more. Dami...first of all, congrats on winning the Australian show because you so thoroughly deserved it, so for this game, I am intrigued to see how Tom does with you. For this first performance, I can see that as the current mentor champion, he has got stuck in and found a very good choice for your voice. A great performance and I think you're gonna be here for a very long time.

I think that Tom has got a secret weapon with you. You're my favourite wildcard going into this competition. I agree that the song choice could've been better but the high notes were fantastic. Keep it up

I like Dami and think she has a great voice (and like you she is my favourite act from the WC's); but come on Angels! we've heard it about 70 gazillion times before on the live shows etc its just so tired

I think that you are a little star on the show. That was the wrong song for you. Personally, I don't think pure hardcore country suits you as a performer, but I understand the theme was a monster to you (no pun intended). Overall, I don't think that was the best tonight.

Rion, I think we all need to remind ourselves (and I hate to start talking like one of the judges on the real show but still) that you're only 13 but when you sing, you have the voice of someone almost twice your age. I disagree with the others, this song was ideal for you because this is where you fit right at home. It's pure Country indeed and I hope next week, you get the chance to try out some more styles. Well done.

I agree with Kuda... and am preparing to duck from Tom and Pingu's onslaught. I'm trying to imagine you sing that song and I just can't I don't really see your vocal, tone and what you are as a singer linked to the deep voiced singer on this song and arrangement. In fact for me it felt a bit of an odd match up to be honest. I get that Pingu is going down a particularly route with you, I just didn't think the song sat well with the type of voice that you have [just my opinion ]

Rion, I don’t get it, IIRC you’re not really a country artist, and that to me was country? To me it was all wrong, because I do think you are talented but your mentor seemed to have messed you about tonight and for me gave you a song that was nothing to do with you. It was wrong, it reminded me of them horrid people who put mayonnaise rather than butter on their sandwiches, no no no! I wish your mentor would have got you right because you are talented and you are one to watch depending on the material you get.

Wow....just, just wow. Rion that was just amazing. You are just pure country at its best, and your vocals were just out of this world in that performance. I am so proud of how you did with that song, and you are my mini Carrie Underwood. I really think you deserve to be here next week, and I am really struggling with who I give my free pass to. If I don`t give it to you and you get the trick, I just urge the public to vote for you because you work so hard and you truly deserve to make it to next week!! Oh and ignore David, Tom and Kuda. They don`t know a star when they see one, and they are scared in case you land in the bottom 5. And Tom.....SHE IS A COUNTRY SINGER!!!

Josh I was expecting big from you tonight, but I am let down. I felt that it was as predictable as it gets and it just wasn`t you. I liked the way in the audition how you picked a song and made it your own, but this was just very karaoke and I think you need the free pass or treat to make it through to next week. Josh, I really like you and I relate to you as a perfomer. Tonight, I thought you struggled a bit with the vocals, especially the high "I don't mind, I don't I don't mind" part polishing the chorus. The song choice was also predictable for me as I imagine to be a little Ne-Yo (I don't mean to sound like Louis Wash)

Boys, fantastic tonight! If this is the standard you bring out on the first live show, I can only imagine what you'll be like in a couple of weeks' time. The harmonies were so tight. You modernized that song with all the beat-boxing etc. That was fresh and amazing boys.

Josh! what a way to bring it on the first live show; you have an amazingly silky smooth quality to your voice that that song suits down to the ground. You're a fantastic performer and I think you can bring a lot to this competition. I have a difficult decision to make tonight and my acts aren't making it easy for me. You brought it big tonight and performed the song well; the vocals were great and it was just cool to sit back and watch you rock it out. Well Done... don't listen to Pingu; you were amazing!

Guys I was unsure what you were going to do or what way Kuda was going to take you. I thought that was a grear debut performance on this series; I liked the acapella beginning and the way the song was built up throughout. It enabled us to hear you crisp clean vocals and how well you guys work well together as a group. The harmonies were amazing and whilst The middle/ ending were a bit messy and the shouting was a bit off putting, the overall performance was great and definately one of the best acts we've seen so far. Well Done to you and Kuda!
