Strictly - 11.1m
X factor - 7.65m

Huge gap these days.

Strictly just keeps going up and up, despite being the same format year after year...

X factor has all the twists deemed to get in viewers...yet is shedding thinem so quickly

That's because most of us stalk the spoiler thread for the results instead.
SCD got an own goal by saving results until Sunday

Your comparing Strictly's peak, with the X Factor average. Hardly a fair comparison.

Strictly I think was about 9.8m. Still a big gap I know, but less than the one you're stating.

X Factor will beat Strictly next year if the reports are indeed true and Simon, Cheryl, Louis and Dannii are the judges. Don't get too smug Strictly... Enjoy this series while it lasts

The comments are virtually the same on the X Factor each week. It has just got stale. I don't think even next year with bringing Simon etc back will save it. It has just got boring.

As I said last week, even poor Dermot has got predictable, comes out and either makes out microphone is a baseball bat to stop music, or comes out dancing. Zzzzzzz

Its just the same each week. Have totally lost all interest

Maybe for a week or two because of the novelty. But SCD was beating X Factor even when Simon was around.

Unfortunately, X Factor has made the mistake of most TV programms in thinking that a winning format must 'evolve'. IT doesn't. Strictly has barely changed for more than a decade and works because it aims at a wide audience demographic. X-Fact seems content to try to go for a narrower and narrower demograpihc and wonders why the ratings go down.

Oh, well actually, Corrie, and Downton, and sometimes Emmerdale are more watched than X Factor these days...

You can usually tell if the Sunday show has been beaten by Strictly, because it means there will be no mention of the ratings on DS at all ...

I can't see the return of a megalomaniac saving the show, most people i know think the show is a joke & a bunch of talentless judges casting their opinions on a bunch of talentless wannabes won't stop it declining.

Possibly because people are so bored by the whole thing that they tune in just for the results, which usually gives a short recap of the songs from the previous night, plus the sing-off..for a bit of "drama."

I know a number of people who do this.

I certainly couldn't sit through the Saturday show, it's way too long and too much rambling, which I think is becoming a problem on SCD also, increasingly.

That said, I don't watch the results show either, like the main show, I record it and zap through all the crap and particularly the pointless group number and the guests, though I'm quite glad I caught Taylor Swift and Gary Lightbody last night.

Rich.

I find Strictly a borefest - the X Factor's not much better. I only have it on if there's nothing better to do on a Saturday evening.

Quite so.

Mr Cowell is on the USA X Factor and its note exactly lighting up the ratings.

Perhaps the majority of people realise that this show is the biggest joke going.

X Factor is no longer a talent show, its a tv entertainment show!
Its no longer about the singing - Its more about the back story, the in-judge fighting and tabloid-grabbing scandals.
The days of Leona Lewis, Matt Cardle, Cher Lloyd, One Direction, Olly Murs (real finds) are gone!!

I watch both, but I prefer Strictly these days
