Whoever thought of putting twig-limbed Sophie into a red leotard with vinyl abdomen...topped off with hideous bristly fringe...I really think they were trying to make her into a 'false widow' spider that's been in the news lately.

The sight of her scuttling round after Brendan like he was some juicy maggot will haunt me long after Halloween

Have to agree, that costume did her no favours whatsoever. When she said she was going to be in a catsuit I had a black sparkly number in mind.

Surely Snowdon as Bacofoil and Widdecombe as Big Bird were far worse?

Had to laugh at this - but yes, poor Sophie. Even her natural poise and elegance couldn't rise above being given an insect abdomen

What about Erin's purple fringe monster? Or as Monkseal put it: the unholy Love-Child of a Power-Ranger, the Honey Monster, a cyber-chicken, a bath mat, the Pickled Onion Monster Munch Monster, some jelly, a trapeze artist, Nadia Comenech, Quetzlcoatl and a car wash.

Thanks for Monkseal for the pics:

I actually liked it. There have been much worst ones!

I liked it too, certainly when compared to 99% of the horrifically tacky glittery numbers most people wear!

I definitely liked it. Very suitable for the occasion.

I wasn't a fan of it, but she really does need to get to grips with the technicalities of each dance and I'm staggered that Brendan let her get away with all those bent knees - if indeed that's how she trained all week. Not good enough !

There have been SO many worse costumes. Far too many to list here.

It was hideous. She must have REALLY upset someone in Wardrobe.

I thought Rachel got the best deal this week - hair, make up and costume all beautiful.

It was revolting. Especially those plastic looking wings. She looked like a flying ant.

It wasn't the worst but it was fairly ghastly. Red pleather is never a good look I didn't like her make up either. It takes a special kind of talent to spend time putting make up on a beautiful woman and she looks worse at the end of it.

True, there have been some hysterically funny outfits - but this one was actually repulsive! Like Mrs Spratt says, you have to be trying really hard to make Sophie look bad.

she looked as if she was dressed as a sex toy...

It wasn't the right costume for Sophie & I was unable to take my mind off that & concentrate on the dance. to be fair though that was probably a good thing as it wasn't her best dance.

The costume was awful but it was still miles better than her dance routine.

Two words. Muppet trousers.

Even young, pretty and slim Sophie couldn't pull that costume off. It looked hideous.

It wasn't too brilliant, but not the worst ever.

I seem to recall some absolute shockers inflicted on Chelsee Healy.

Peplums should be banned by the fashion police anyway, but that one was a real shocker.

Hideous, the girl is skinny enough without trying to make her skinnier .

On the plus side, her make-up was spectacular.
