BlackBerry have abandoned sell off plans to Fairfax and will limp on with a smaller in house recovery plan.

The shit is well and truly going to hit the fan. Apparently this "fresh" financing comes with some caveats. Should the company go into liquidation then any money gained from asset stipping its corpse would go to those creditors from the most recent round of money giving. They are borrowing money on very expensive terms.

The best thing the company could do is merge with another bit player. I suspect with Blackberry's enterprise user base someone like Microsoft will likely try to buy the platform and run it down.

Blackberry as we know it is now dead. They will transition to a service based company in the next 18 months I reckon. Everyone is chomping for a bit of the same pie, unless you offer something exceptional you are just going to make mistake after mistake.
