It will be a real shame if she doesn't appear. I want to know who had the bottle to marry Derek Branning.

It strange that she has never appeared not even once in the show but Joey and Alice both leaving I dont think we will see her but realistically with this storyline she should appear...

I heard that she was meant to appear last year and be played by Kazia Pelka.

Ridiculous that she hasn't appeared, especially now.

That was probably just a wishful thinking thread from Vaslav.

No it wasn't actually.

I read about 18 months ago that Kazia Pelka was to play Eva Fisher and that Eva was Joey & Alice's Mum and that she had remarried a social worker called Malcolm played by Gemmill but it never happened obviously..

Very good point actually. Where the hell IS she? Her kids father died in this dreadful place that they went to live in, Joey was in a serious car crash last year with not a sign of a visit from her, now her daughters up for murder. Maybe she's washing her hair...

And like this mother who raised her two kids would just let them go and hang out with their supposedly evil and violent father without coming after them. The whole Derek Branning backstory was a retconned mess.

Very true. Makes you wonder what Jamie Foreman could've done with the part five years or so ago, when the writing was in a different league.

It depends if there is a court case and if Alice is convicted...

if her Mum is not at the Trial that is bad on the part of EE..

You'd have thought she'd have been introduced ages ago just to bolster the Branning population

Did Alice & Joey fall out with their Mum? I just find unrealistic that she would not want to see her daughter considering she is up on a Murder charge.

I don't think they fell out, at one time Alice was always flittng off there when she had found out something unsavoury about Derek (ie.a lot ), in fact wasn't she going to go home just before delboy popped his clogs but decided to stay until after Christmas 2012..

Joey was still living there until June 2012! I'm positive that Joey said his mum had sent him to bring Alice home, so not really sure why they both stayed, even after Derek's death as they must have family/friends in Essex that we never see, and Joey must have had a job there?...

Well no doubt when Alice gets found not guilty, she and Joey will move back with their mummy and they'll all become a distant memory.

There is no point in introducing her now.

We're meant to forget that she exists just like Joey and Alice have obviously done. The writing has been a complete mess with regards to her, as if a mother would allow her children to go and live with her violent, monstrous, criminal, ex-husband and not even put up a fight. It's not even like Derek had played a part in their life earlier on both Joey and Alice struggled to remember him. After Derek died Alice was wailing that she had "nobody left" completely forgetting about the mother who raised her singlehandedly from birth. She had only known Derek for 6 months prior to his death yet acted as if he was her only parent.

I've come to the conclusion that TPTB simply cannot be bothered to cast her so we're meant to just forget her existence. I remember last year we had a scene where Derek and Carol had an argument about his ex-wife where they conveniently managed to avoid saying her name throughout the conversation. It felt so unnatural and contrived and can only have been written that way because the writers couldn't be bothered to give a name to someone they had no interest in bringing in.

She should have been brought into ages ago, but EE haven't been great on the finer details on the past few years.

This new branch of Brannings has just been an unmitigated disaster! The sooner they are all gone the better.
