I just wonder, any experience with laser hair removal?
Is it really always definitive? Does it hurt? WHat places would you recommend in Londen? Anyone got expierences with http://www.cityhairremoval.com? I got some good reviews about them, but a real person its always better too know (;

Hello,

I used SK:N for mine after a recommendation on here. They were really good and usually have offers on. They have clinics all over the UK - check their website. Mine cost less than £500 for eight sessions on chin, neck and side of face and it was money well spent as I was having to pluck twice a day (hair growth caused by steroids) but I am the best combination for a successful result (dark hair, fair skin) I only get blonde/white hairs growing now so I can cope with them (laser doesn't work on those) And no, it doesn't hurt really, just feels like hot plucking - each little beep of the machine covers the size of a 5p piece - although when they hit a cluster, you can feel a crackle and smell burning hair They call it "the smell of success"

Any more questions, please ask

I've had it done professionally and the results lasted about a year before the hair grew back (I had 6 treatments, each a month to 6 weeks apart). I've recently bought one of these and it's brilliant (I hope you can get them in the UK)! I've done my chin 3 times a week and after 2 weeks I've one resistant hair either side. After 3 times a week on my pits I reckon I've about a 60% reduction in hair. I can't be bothered with my legs right now.

My machine hurts far less than the professional one (probably because it's less powerful). The professional one felt like being flicked with an elastic band - uncomfortable but painful.

I discovered I need it doing when I saw my chin close up in the sun visor mirror in the car. I never saw how dark and hairy my chin was in normal daylight and mirrors but in the car I looked like a speciality act from Jim Rose Circus

I had the IPL. I had it done on my armpits back in 2009 and you are meant to go back annually for a top up treatment. I haven't been back since and since then I've got a few fine hairs coming through.

It does hurt, I'd be lying if I said no. It hurts more than a rubber band being twanged against your skin. I had my bikini line done also and boy did that hurt. I have to say the pain was worth it as it's not grown back since.

I had it done at http://www.destinationskin.com/our-clinics/leeds/ as it was closest place to where I was living at the time.

My sisters had her lower legs done and they burned her legs, they left rectangle shape burns all across the back of her legs and it looked daft. I took photos as the clinic claimed it was impossible. My sister did tell the lady it was burning and the lady said it was normal to feel pain. After the burning episode she didn't go back for her free treatment and I haven't been back since either.

Has anyone tried the philips Lumea? Both my siblings use it and its good but I wanted more opinions before I buy it....plus I'm too lazy to use it....

I had laser done...yeah it was painful but I loved that clean feeling! I hate that my hair grew back after I finished my course (I'd say 55% has grown back). I'm looking into getting a machine like my sister (who also had laser). I'm not thinking of going to get it again from a pro because every time I went I kept having to tell them do it here and here...and they're like well thats tiny and we can't see it! and I'm like who cares do it...I can see it and its my treatment which I payed 2 grand for...never again! It was robbery...my sister philip lumen cost about 300 and it works on here like I said....but I'm just a bit lazy to use it....so was in two minds getting my own...
