The judges are now more interested in appearance than in learning to dance

Consider the possibility that many of those celebs give up every spare minute of their lives for three months to an intensely demanding training regimen, both physically and mentally, not because they are interested primarily in throwing some shapes on a telly show but because they want to make the most of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be taught to dance by a top professional.

I've seen it suggested that Rachel would have been better off with a partner who didn't give her such demanding choreography. I personally think Rachel wanted to make the most of her opportunity, and couldn't have been given a better partner than Pasha. I don't blame Pasha for the freak "bottom two" which resulted in their elimination before Rachel could show the voters that she was capable of building upon the basic techniques Pasha had taught her.

I offered that AT clip (Post 58) because it includes lots of stuff a celeb could deliver to a reasonable standard. I'd love to see Mark and Iveta come out and do something along those lines. But were they to really nail such a routine I fear the judges would still find excuses to award lower marks than they would to a favoured celeb who delivered a technically-inferior routine.

And it's not as though I'm suggesting a celeb should come out and try this -

It's supposed to be a violent relationship and he's supposed to play the bad boy in the routine.
