One of my cats came home Saturday night vomiting and off his food he loves his food he can eat for England and still want more he never drank much water before so that's nothing unusual for him he didn't want to know anything just wanted to be left alone which is not him I took him to the vets on Sunday and the vet gave him an injection he said within a couple of hours he will feel a little better in 72 hours he will be back to his normal self well he isn't and I have noticed he is now dribbling constantly he keeps sticking his tongue out (which he never did) and if you pick him up he cries constantly he shakes a little but then stops he still isn't eating but he is drinking loads and he isn't vomiting anymore
should I take him back to the vets and tell them my husband said he will get better on his own now he's had an injection but I fear that what ever it was that he ate or drank that was poisoned is going to end up killing him he is not even 2 year old yet

Take him back if you are concerned, I would.

Unfortunately it's one of many things that can happen to an outdoor cat, even by accident this time of year with people putting anti freeze in their cars

Definitely take him back. No question. There are new symptoms. That will change the vet's diagnosis, and they shouldn't be ignored.

I am hoping that you are back in the vets at this moment in time. I really hope your wee cat is fine.

Took my cat back to the vets today they have kept him in they have taken some blood and got him on a drip I rang up earlier and the blood they took show there is something wrong with his kidneys from the poison they seem to think it may have been anti freeze but there not 100% certain on it I have to ring back in the morning they said he is as comfortable as can be expected but I have a very sad feeling he wont pull through this time the last time he was poisoned he made it but only just this time I think he is giving up the fight

I used to work in a vets and I know how awful it is to see an animal that's really poorly from poisoning. At least he is a young cat so he stands a better chance. Really hope he gets better. Antifreeze may be brilliant for cars but it really is a menace for animals.

Take it back to the vets asap.

And keep it it in future.

People have the right to use whatever chemicals they like in their own properties, if your animals wanders is and is poisoned, you've only got yourself to blame.

Of course people do, but why would anyone use antifreeze in anything but their car? Unless its to deliberately poison cats?

And please read properly, the cat is being kept in - at the vets where it is now seriously ill.....

Anti freeze can drip when being used to fill up a car and fall onto the ground. With the weather we have been having it can soon get washed off and into a puddle. The cat only has to come along and drink from that puddle if thirsty and it get's into thier system.

Another way is if the car is overheating and the anti-freeze level is to much. As anti-freeze boils the excess can come out the overflow.

I am so very sorry to hear that. My heart goes out to you, Trish. God bless little Tiddles.

It's not for nothing that they call anti-freeze 'The Blue Death'
