The iPad was always too big for me so I went to the iPad Mini. I would definitely consider the iPad Air but to be honest for what I use my tablet for (reading, browsing the web, email, games) the 7 inch form factor is perfect. Thought I would miss the retina but I don't, and even on iOS 7 it runs smoothly.

...just a crappy piece of typed paper with a list of the models they have in stock. Way to insinuate your customers can't be trusted with demos models!
https://discussions.apple.com/message/23672662 Speculation there is also that the magnet pretty much causes it on every screen. Apple run a tight ship and I have my tin hat on again. |

Assuming I did not see the AIr in Tesco could it be related to the screen uniformity problem that the Igzo panels seem to have?

Might be a design flaw on this occasion given that it's a new form factor. That sometimes happens with Apple kit, which they then remove on the later design revision. We'll see next week when I finally go to buy my iPad

![]() Just buy it and enjoy it. Ignore those people seeking mythical standards of perfection. |

My only concern would be when holding one handed portrait, does your thumb touch the screen and perform touch actions by accident?

As the iPad Air was only released late October, I don't think Apple will have had a chance to fix any bugs, change the manufacturing process, and ship out new stock by next week!
We know that Apple likes to keep inventories tight, but typically they'll start manufacturing new products in bulk 7-8 weeks before launch. Meanwhile, after launch the inventory times can halve whilst supply catches up with demand. Also considering iPads are made in China 10-12 weeks after first production run is plenty of time to wait, since the device you're purchasing will likely have been put together on or around launch date. Those factories can turn around entirely new product in a 8 week timeframe, let alone tweak a manufacturing process a bit. There is method in the madness
