Why? There are three male judges & one female so why not balance this up with 2 female presenters. Or, even more radical, have a female presenter and a male interviewing the couples.
Maybe thats why its nice to have a presenter who doesn't drool over the celebs bodies. How abou Angela Ripon. She knows about dance, is a good presenter and wouldn't descend to the level of some of the others on the show. |

Oh dear!
I watched the new Big Bang Theory episode this week. Then I read your post. I now have the Howard and Raj scene in my head ![]() And it will be the background commentary on whatever Ben does in tonight's show ![]() ![]() But, I like Ben (compared to Dave and Fiona at least).![]() P.S. Both Howard and Raj showed good isolation. Raj especially ![]() ![]() ![]() P.P.S. I had to add a link. Don't watch if you're a Big Bang fan, and haven't seen the episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rD_JFgiok_0 |

Fair point. Though I think you stretching things a bit when you refer to 3 male judges.

I hope Tess & Claudia host the show when Bruce goes, but sadly I think the BBC is still too conservative to go with a female presenter in the main role - not for the flagship show.

Or even two male judges, two female judges and one male presenter and one female interviewing the couples. Bruno and Len have jobs on dancing with stars so one of them should go.
Why not a female presenter and a male interviewer? Stereotypes need changing and something so radically different would make a refreshing change to the bog standard, male dominated presenting role. |

I agree, if anything could put me off watching it would be JB presenting. I like the two girls presenting and loved Claudia on It takes two.

Barrowman is a botoxed ghoul who is only good enough to sing yodelling songs about dildos. IMO of course.

I can't stand his 'look at me' attitude. Poor Suggs was completely sidelined as JB gave lengthy discourse on almost every one of the celebrities on ITT. Hogged the segment. Was almost expecting him to break into song.

I think the likes of John Barrowman and Michael Ball are far too busy with their own music/ acting careers to even consider presenting something like strictly.
In John's case, its one thing to record a series to be shown later in the year - but out of the question to sign up for a live series which requires a 3 month comittment at a lucrative time of the year (all those Christmas tours, concerts and pantos). Having to take every Saturday off isn't good for them |

Are you joking? Ball certainly isn't too busy. He even had his own cheap daily live ITV daytime chat show 2 years ago and he often fills in on R2
Strictly is the biggest entertainment show on tv, both would kill for the job and the money. Going by Barrowman's regular appearances on QVC, the bit part roles certainly aren't paying much. Which is why he is constantly trying to get the BBC to do another series of Torchwood. . Barrowman also has a successful Childrens novel series (Hollow Earth), 2 already published , the 3rd pipeline, and he's just been commissioned to do 4 more . The tv rights to it have already been sold Barrowman is also a recurring character in the hit tv series Arrow, (he was the main villain in the last season, so not just a 'bit part'), which has raised his profile in the USA, so he's been spending much more time there recently. He was also in Scandal, and he hosts 'Sing Your Face Off'' for ABC. Not forgetting doing Pressure Pad for the BBC (which he filmed in one block a few months ago before jetting back to the states again). So yeah, he sure will have time to fit in Strictly as well! |

Please BBC don't consider John Barrowman or Mrs Winkle as a permanent presenter for SCD. I managed to watch last nights show without having to listen to one word the giddy one uttered....I switched off the Friday ITT show as soon as mouth almighty appeared...
