As per Series 8, I have only seen Deep Breath since it was in the theater here. Since I don't have cable or ITunes, I haven't seen any of the rest of it. I am not really looking forward to it much either given what I have seen on these boards and given what my friends have told me.
As per your question, I bought several DVDs about a month ago in my very slow quest towards a complete collection. I bought Planet of Evil, the Black Guardian Trilogy (Mawdren Undead, Terminus and Enlightenment) and the 3rd Series of The Sarah Jane Adventures. I haven't had a chance to watch any of them as of yet, but I am looking forward to it. As per your recommendation, I think that Planet of Evil will be the first of them that I watch.
The reason that I asked the questions was because I haven't purchased Series 2-4 as of yet (I found Series 1 on a crazy sale for cheap, so I picked it up) because I have been waiting for the stand-alone Blu-Ray versions. (Also, there is so much of the classic stuff that I still need that obtaining them was not necessarily a priority.) Supposedly these have been in the pipe for awhile, ever since the Blu-Ray boxset with the sonic screwdriver. However, they have not been released as of yet. It seems as if the DVD range (even the new stuff) has been exhausted at this point, so I am hoping that they release the Blu-Rays of the first four Series this next year. That is why I was trying to think of anything else that they could possibly release at this point which would forestall the aforementioned Blu-Rays. I can't think of anything.
