Octopus_Prime posted this in the community thread, but I felt like this needs it's own thread for those that might miss it.

This is a great 12min demo video of the dashboard and it's features. Using code from the 1st Nov and in my view it's running great so all those rumors of the OS being a mess the other week were probably BS. Even just at the start of the video it's amazing how quickly Kinect spotted the two guys and signed them in. Being able to easily switch between the two logged in profiles with a voice command will be really handy when you have a friend round.

Other things shown were the instant game resume which is an amazing feature, available from launch This also shows how fast you can switch between the various apps using your voice as well as a demo of Skype working.

To be honest, this is the type of video MS should have come out with at E3 to show people exactly what they were trying to achieve.

Cheeky!

Seriously though, I'm glad that it appears as though those rumors of it having a broken dashboard was just NeoGaf bullshit.

This video has really made me consider switching my preorder. The ui looks so slick and the features are seamless. But the ps4 is more powerful and will go great with my ps vita.

It really shows that Sony is a hardware company and ms is software company.

What to do!

It wouldn't surprise me if there is in the store, but I thought the dash demo said no ads on your home/pins page?

As I said in the community thread-

Hate it just as much as I hate the current 360 dash to be honest.

I hate UI's that have stuff plastered all over the screen like that, I just think that kind of style looks like an ugly mess.
Hate it on Windows 8, Hate it on the windows phones/tablets (Hence why I buy Android devices) & hate it on my consoles.

I know others seem to love this 'modern' design, Me personally however loathe it.
Sadly i fear other devices are going the same way, The new Playstation store for instance is a bit similar & equally hideous, annoyingly.

I dunno the demo has rekindled my interest in xb1. I know some of it won't work outside usa, but it was pretty neat

It does look neat. Liked the tracking within the frame of Skype.

The non-gaming stuff looks good. I have long thought fitness could be a killer app for Kinect; now I am wondering if Skype could be too. Having it integrated so that you get notified if you're watching TV and a Skype call comes in, could make it a lot more usable.

Microsoft are saying the TV/EPG stuff should come to the UK in 2014.
