He seems to be very popular on DS.

Actually, I don't think he has, unfortunately. If producers continue to foist stupid music for him to dance to, it won't help even if he's very popular in this forum (or with the SCD viewers in general) because very soon he'll be at the bottom of th leaderboard...

Zero chance.

I assume this is a joke question?

What do YOU think his chances are?

No. He'll go the instant he's in the dance off and he won't stay out of there that much longer. He'll be lucky to survive the rumba. But he'll still be the best thing about this year for me, him and Iveta.

Sadly I think not as statistically if he stays towards the bottom of the leaderboard he will end up in the dance off eventually even if he tops the public vote (as it would depend on the board being reversed.

Personally I think he is a better dancer than Ben & would be getting higher marks if he wasn't over weight.

I wouldn't mind him winning one little bit but as he probably won't I want him to go as far as he can. My feeling is he will go out in the semi final. I would pay a lot of money to see a Mark & Iveta show dance

No I don't think he has, though unlike some of the less serious candidates he has a very sweet and modest personality. That's going to be my nickname for him - Modest Mark, to go with Dreadful Dave and Amiable Ashley and Adorable Abbey.

Agree. Looked like Iveta drew the short straw with the dance and music choice last week & so was not on her usual form with choreography.

Looking forward to this week as Rumba is one of her favourites.

Odd how my two favourites this year both have faces that can gurn choreographically whilst dancing.

He's got to end up in the dance-off within a few weeks and then he'll go.

This is what the dance-off is for, to prevent it becoming a mockery of a competition.

If someone who put hours of effort into the work then found that they were beaten in the final, by a comparatively inept "popular" contestant, they wouldn't get potential winners to sign up for it, just to waste the time and effort.

Pretty much this.

I agree with this, if he looked the part of a contender, he'd be getting rave comments and marks. I really like Ben but he doesn't entertain me even half as much Mark. Ashley is a decent enough performer but I find him mostly forgettable and although I like Patrick......Mark has the edge for me. I'd love to see him in the finals but I don't think it's what the judges and producers want.

If he can stick around for another couple of weeks or so, his ultimate longevity in the show could depend on which contestant picks up the votes of those who are voted out. Mark may be the beneficiary. I know the odds are stacked against him, but I have hope!!

i thought he did but then someone said that no one over 40 has won (mark is 47)

I don't think it's his age that's the problem - Patrick has just turned 50 and I think he gets more positive responses from the judges and on DWTS they've had a few 50 + celebs who've won - I think it's more because he's overweight and therefore doesn't look like a contender.

You're right - should never try to second guess the GBP.

Here's hoping for a great rumba - the concept sounds good and the track should work well, so I'm looking forward to a real crowd pleaser!

I like Mark as well, and think his relationship with Iveta is very engaging

also I want to see how much more weight he can lose

I think Mark puts in the hours too & I don't think he is particularly inept either, but his size will always be against him. If he was the size of Ashley he would be storming this competition, as he would 'look' better in the dances & he already has the performance in spades.

I will be supporting him 100% whilst he is about & hoping he out stays a fair few more. He would be my choice for the last man standing.

My heart says yes but my head says no unfortunately. As long as he stays longer than Dave I will be happy.
